Patriots hired former Titans and Bucs QB Chris Simms as a coaching assistant. This officially does it for Simms' NFL career. The former Texas Longhorn and son of Phil has taken an entry-level assistant job on Bill Belichick's staff.

Former Titans and Bucs QB Chris Simms is turning his sights to coaching opportunities this year. Simms was out of the league last year as well as most of the 2010 season. The No. 97 pick in the 2003 draft has thrown fewer than 20 total passes since rupturing his spleen early in the 2006 season. If his career is over, Simms finishes with a 58.1 completion rate, 12:18 TD-to-INT ratio, 6.1 YPA, and a 69.1 passer rating, mostly with Tampa Bay.
