Jones (undisclosed) was waived by the Jets on Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
Jones hasn't had much impact defensively since he left New England, seeing just 301 defensive snaps and racking up 17 tackles (12 solo) last season. There's a chance he's claimed off waivers by another club, or he will otherwise become a free agent.

Jones re-signed with the 49ers on a one-year deal Thursday, Matt Barrows of The Sacramento Bee reports.
EDGE Analysis
Jones played only six games for the 49ers in 2016, recording 17 combined tackles. He was claimed off of waivers by San Francisco last season after Arik Armstead went down with a shoulder injury. Jones will provide depth for the 49ers' defensive line.

Jones was signed by the 49ers on Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
The 49ers bring in Jones to bolster their defensive line after Arik Armstead (shoulder) was placed on injured reserve. Jones has been around the league since he was drafted in 2013, but most recently played for the Dolphins, recording seven tackles in seven games before being cut on Nov. 7. The 26-year-old will compete for reps with backup defensive end Ronald Blair behind new starter DeForest Buckner.

Jones will re-sign with the Dolphins this week, Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald reports.
EDGE Analysis
Jones was originally cut by Miami prior to the beginning of the 2016 regular season, but the team will add the defensive tackle back to the roster after placing fellow defensive lineman Earl Mitchell (calf) on Injured Reserve. Jones shouldn't draw much attention in IDP formats as he expects to simply provide depth for the Dolphins.

Jones was released by Miami on Saturday, Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald reports.
EDGE Analysis
This move comes as somewhat of a surprise as Jones had been working with the second unit but the Dolphins are deep on the defensive line but in the end the team decided to go with younger and cheaper backups.

The Dolphins have claimed Jones off waivers from the Patriots, the Palm Beach Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
Now healthy, Jones, who missed last season with a calf injury, will bolster the Dolphins' interior line depth. While starting 23 of 28 games for the Patriots between the 2013 and 2014 seasons, Jones tallied a total of 79 tackles and nine sacks.

ESPN Boston considers second-year DT Chris Jones a sure-fire lock for the final 53-man roster.
Jones, claimed off waivers in September, started 11 games for New England as a rookie because of injuries. He finished with 54 tackles and six sacks, but graded out as Pro Football Focus' worst defensive tackle. Jones doesn't play the run well and ended up near the bottom of PFF's pass rush productivity rankings. Ideally, Jones would fill a backup role as an occasional penetrator.

The Patriots are high on second-year DT Chris Jones.
Jones, a sixth-round pick by the Texans last April, was claimed off waivers in September and thrust into a prominent role in New England due to injuries. He graded out as Pro Football Focus' worst defensive tackle among 69 qualifiers, receiving especially poor marks in run defense. The Patriots reportedly like his ability to push the pocket. Jones shouldn't play on early downs.
