Lions LCB Chris Houston (ankle) expects to return for Week 3. Houston sat out the Lions' first two games. "I'm running around healthier than I was the last couple of weeks," Houston said. "I'm about 95 percent and I'll be ready to go this week." The need for Houston's return has taken on an added urgency with fill-in Drayton Florence (forearm) landing on the shelf. He'll likely suit up against the Titans, which is bad news for Jake Locker.

The Lions are expected to be without CBs Chris Houston (ankle) and Bill Bentley (concussion) as well as FS Louis Delmas (knee) on Sunday Night Football against the 49ers. They're going to be incredibly shorthanded in the secondary, improving Alex Smith's fantasy matchup for two-quarterback leaguers. Smith impressively has an 11:0 TD-to-INT ratio over his past eight games, while running in two more touchdowns on the ground. He's still not a top-12 QB option. Houston returned to practice this week, but must not have emerged healthy enough to play. He's listed as doubtful, as is Delmas. Bentley has been ruled out.

Lions LCB Chris Houston (ankle) remains on track to play in Sunday's game against the 49ers. Houston's return would be a major boost to a Lions' secondary that will likely be without FS Louis Delmas (knee) and CB Bill Bentley (concussion). Houston is their clear No. 1 corner.

Lions LCB Chris Houston (ankle) returned to practice Wednesday. Houston was limited in his first session since going down in Detroit's third preseason game. It's not an indication he'll be ready to roll against the 49ers, but certainly puts him on the right track. FS Louis Delmas (knee) remains sidelined.

Lions LCB Chris Houston was forced from Saturday night's preseason game with a left ankle injury. Houston was shown being attended to on the sideline by the Lions' training staff and is questionable to return. Bill Bentley started at right cornerback over Jacob Lacey and was also removed from the game with a shoulder injury.

Lions LCB Chris Houston was diagnosed with a dislocated shoulder after Saturday's season-ending loss to the Saints. Houston took a pain-killing shot in the first half, but he was unable to play press coverage once the effect wore off late in the game. The injury is a long-term concern, as it's to the same shoulder that was twice separated in 2010. Detroit's top cornerback, Houston is signed through the 2012 season.

Lions LCB Chris Houston was forced from Saturday's Wild Card round game at the end of the first quarter with an apparent shoulder injury. After carrying his arm awkwardly toward the sideline, Houston was quickly sent to the locker room. The Lions can ill-afford to lose their top cornerback against Drew Brees and the league's hottest offense. He's questionable to return.

Lions LCB Chris Houston doesn't believe he did any further damage to his knee in Sunday's win over Oakland. Clearly diminished as he tried to play through his torn MCL, Houston was removed from the game early in the second half. The Lions got torched by Carson Palmer both with and without Houston on the field, and can expect similar results against Philip Rivers and the Chargers on Saturday if Houston doesn't make significant progress during the week.

Lions CB Chris Houston was benched in the first half of Week 15 against the Raiders. Houston was playing for the first time since Thanksgiving, but the Lions are calling this a coach's decision. Perhaps his knee isn't all the way back just yet.
