Conley is officially probable for Sunday's Week 1 game against the Texans.
EDGE Analysis
Considering that Conley played in last Thursday's preseason finale and practiced fully all week, it's a good bet that he'll be on the field Sunday. The question now is how much he'll play. The Chiefs seem to really like the rookie wideout, but he's seen just limited preseason action due to the knee injury. While he should see some snaps Sunday, his playing time will likely increase as the season rolls along if he plays well.

Conley caught three passes (six targets) for 38 yards and a touchdown in Thursday's preseason game against the Rams.
EDGE Analysis
Conley, a third-round draft pick, finished the preseason with a couple of solid showings, highlighted by his 15-yard touchdown Thursday night. Albert Wilson is still the better bet to be the Week 1 starter across from Jeremy Maclin, but Conley undeniably landed on the perfect team to make an early push for a starting job.

Conley had three receptions on five targets for 30 yards in Friday's preseason win over Tennessee.
EDGE Analysis
Conley has been banged up a little this preseason, so this was easily his best performance. He worked with Alex Smith in the first half, and also drew a pass interference call in the end zone at one point. Albert Wilson, who has the slight edge to start opposite Jeremy Maclin, left Friday's game with a shoulder injury, which could potentially open the door for Conley. Regardless, Conley remains an intriguing later round option, given his impressive blend of size and speed.

Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Chris Conley is dealing with a knee strain as he enters training camp, according to ESPN. There is currently no timetable for Conley's return, but he is expected to compete for a starting spot during training camp.

Conley has seen some snaps with the Chiefs' starters during the team's offseason practices, ESPN.com reports. Though Jeremy Maclin is entrenched as the Chiefs' top wideout, the team's pecking order at the position beyond that has yet to be solidified. Conley -- a third-round pick in the 2015 NFL Draft -- thus has an opportunity to jostle with Albert Wilson, Junior Hemingway, De'Anthony Thomas and Jason Avant for slotting on that front.

The Chiefs are attempting to turn Conley into a kick returner for the upcoming season, Adam Teicher of ESPN reports. "He reminds me of Jacoby Jones after he catches it as a [kickoff] returner," said special teams coordinator Dave Toub. "He's got real good timing on his catch. He catches it coming forward. He's so fast and he's big and he hits it [up the field]. That's exactly what we look for as far as a kickoff returner." Conley never returned kickoffs in college, but neither did Knile Davis, who returned 29 kicks for 829 yards and a touchdown last season. The rookie receiver certainly possesses the tools to assist in that role, but real value could be obtained if he can unseat Albert Wilson for the WR2 spot alongside Jeremy Maclin.

Conley signed a four-yer, $3.123 million contract with the Chiefs on Wednesday, Aaron Wilson of the Baltimore Sun reports. Conley - an extremely athletic wideout out of Georgia selected in the third round of the 2015 NFL Draft - has the tools to compete with Albert Wilson for the Chiefs' WR2 spot. The duo will likely battle for it in training camp and the preseason.
