Roullier (knee) is being released by the Commanders on Friday, Nicki Jhabvala of The Washington Post reports.

Roullier missed the entirety of the 2022 season after he underwent knee surgery in October and he will now look for a new team. The center will likely operate in a reserve role wherever he ends up.

Roullier (knee) underwent knee surgery Tuesday, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Roullier is already on IR, but the decision to undergo knee surgery likely ends his 2022 season. That said, Fowler notes that Roullier and Washington could revisit options later this year. The Commanders also have Wes Schweitzer (concussion) on IR, while Tyler Larsen (Achilles) is on the physically unable to perform list but expected to be activated Week 5.

The Commanders placed Roullier (knee) on injured reserve Tuesday, Zach Selby of the team's official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
Roullier will be required to miss at least four games due to his placement on IR. With the starting center out for the foreseeable future, Washington opted to sign Nick Martin to provide extra depth.

Coach Ron Rivera said Monday that Roullier (knee) will "probably have to go on short-term IR, minimum," Nicki Jhabvala of The Washington Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
He's in danger of missing the entire remainder of the season with a significant knee injury, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com reports. Further examinations will shed more light on the situation in the near future, but for now, Washington's starting center job is up in the air. Wes Schweitzer (hamstring) would make sense as a fill-in, but he's also currently dealing with an injury of his own.

Roullier was activated from Washington's physically unable to perform list Thursday, Sam Fortier of The Washington Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
Roullier started training camp while recovering from a season-ending fractured fibula suffered in Week 8 of the 2021 campaign. The 28-year-old started the first eight games at center for Washington last year, and he should reprise this role now that he's healthy heading into the 2022 season.

Roullier (lower leg) is still recovering from his 2021 season-ending injury, but he should be ready "sometime during training camp," Bryan Manning of Commanders Wire reports.
EDGE Analysis
Roullier was carted off the field during an Oct. 31 matchup with the Broncos that resulted in a fractured fibula and required surgery. His return will be a boost to the Commanders offensive line in 2022, as he's manned the starting center job when healthy each of the last four seasons.

Roullier (leg) was placed on injured reserve Tuesday and will be out for the season, Ben Standig of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Roullier was carted off the field with an aircast placed on his leg in Washington's loss Sunday to the Broncos. He was diagnosed with a fractured fibula and will need season-ending surgery. His recovery is likely to take several months and it's also likely he suffered ligament damage to his ankle. Roullier has been Washington's starting center since Week 14 of his rookie season in 2017, but will now likely turn that role over to Tyler Larsen for the rest of 2021.

Roullier (ankle) has been ruled out of Sunday's game against Denver.
EDGE Analysis
Roullier was carted off the field and the doctors put an aircast on his leg, so the fact that he's been downgraded to out isn't all that surprising. This leaves a big void in the secondary, though. Expect Tyler Larsen to act as Roullier's primary replacement.
