Edmonds rushed for 10 yards on five carries during Sunday's 16-14 loss to the Bears.
EDGE Analysis
Arizona had, scoring-wise, its strongest offensive performance of the season on Sunday, but Edmonds saw a season-low in touches and yards. His exposure in the offense has declined in each of the past two weeks. It's a small sample size, but it's also hard to make much of a difference as a backup running back in an offense averaging less than a touchdown per game. The hope will be that the Cardinals' offense will turn a corner with Josh Rosen now under center, beginning on Sunday against the rival Seahawks.

Edmonds snagged all five of his targets for 15 yards and added a five-yard run during Sunday's 34-0 loss to the Rams.
EDGE Analysis
It hasn't been for much yardage, but there seems to be a concerted effort to get Edmonds touches in Arizona. The problem has been that the Cardinals have fallen behind early in back to back weeks and have looked vanilla on offense. Until the Cardinals are able to play more balanced and take some shots downfield, it's going to continue to be a tough ride for Edmonds. Considering that the team has yet to find a way to unleash star David Johnson, brighter days are not guaranteed in the desert.

Edmonds notched four carries for 24 yards and gathered in all four passes for another 24 yards during Sunday's 24-6 loss to the Redskins.
EDGE Analysis
Edmonds didn't receive a touch until the game was out of hand in the second half, but among his 17 offensive snaps, he was utilized on nearly half of them, finishing third in yards from scrimmage behind Larry Fitzgerald and David Johnson. In a closer contest, Edmonds likely will be hard-pressed to wrench touches from the workhorse that is Johnson. No matter, Edmonds' pro debut is an encouraging sign for his potential in the event a bigger workload is presented to him.

Edmonds rushed 11 times for 55 yards and caught both of his targets for eight more in Sunday's 27-3 preseason win over Dallas.
EDGE Analysis
Edmonds got an extended look in the first half with starter David Johnson getting the night off, and he made the most of his opportunity by averaging five yards per carry. T.J. Logan also had a big day highlighted by a 59-yard touchdown, but Edmonds appears destined to serve as the primary backup to Johnson once the games start to count.

Edmonds took five carries for 11 yards and a touchdown in Saturday's 24-17 preseason win over the Chargers.
EDGE Analysis
Edmonds was the first running back in the game after David Johnson, who was taken out for good after ripping off back-to-back 14-yard gains on Arizona's first two snaps. Edmonds handled the rest of the opening drive, including a second-effort touchdown on a 4th-and-goal from the two-yard line. Despite averaging just 2.2 yards per carry, the rookie did a nice job with situational running, picking up four yards on a 2nd-and-3 and then three yards on a 1st-and-goal from the 6-yard line. More important, Edmonds got his work before D.J. Foster and T.J. Logan -- an early hint that the fourth-round pick is on track for the No. 2 RB job. Foster and Logan combined for just 18 yards on 11 touches during Saturday's game.

Edmonds received reps with the first-team offense during mandatory minicamp this week, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
Extenuating circumstances precipitated Edmonds' elevation to such work, as David Johnson opted to skip minicamp as he seeks a contract extension. No matter, Edmonds' burst and quickness have been on display since he was selected in the fourth round of this year's draft, making him perhaps the top candidate to serve as Johnson's backup in 2018. Edmonds' collegiate resume at Fordham -- 153.8 yards from scrimmage per game and an FCS-record 74 touchdowns in 44 contests -- indicate that he'll be able to produce if called upon in the fall.

Edmonds will compete for a third-down role, at the very least, as a rookie in 2018, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
Edmonds lit the Patriot League on fire during four collegiate seasons, cranking out 5,862 rushing yards, 905 receiving yards and an FCS-record 74 touchdowns. Although ankle and hamstring injuries contained him to just 706 yards from scrimmage last fall, he relayed Saturday that he's "100 percent" entering the Cardinals' offseason program, where he'll vie with Elijhaa Penny, D.J. Foster and T.J. Logan for reps behind David Johnson. Edmonds' resume reveals viability as both a runner and receiver, so a strong showing in the coming months could vault him to No. 2 on the depth chart.

The Cardinals selected Edmonds in the fourth round of the 2018 NFL Draft, 134th overall.
EDGE Analysis
David Johnson's injury in 2017 exposed the lack of depth in the Cardinals backfield. Edmonds may not be the full solution to the issue, but it's a start. The Fordham product had the fifth-most rushing yards in FCS history with 5,862 over his four years in the Bronx. Although he's undersized (5-foot-8, 203 pounds) Edmonds has tremendous burst and short-area quickness to get to the outside and rip off big runs. If things fall the right way, Edmonds can be David Johnson's direct backup this season.
