Clay was targeted just once in Sunday's win over the Lions and finished without a catch on 41 offensive snaps.
EDGE Analysis
Clay was a good fantasy receiver at one point in his career but those days are long over, at least in this offense. He's simply not being looked at in the passing game, with just five targets over the last three games since he returned from a hamstring injury. Clay has somehow failed to find the end zone all season, while his game high in catches is four and yardage is 40. Ouch. He signed a five-year, $38 million contract with the Bills in March of 2015, but we imagine the relationship may be coming to a close soon.

Clay caught one of his two targets for six yards Sunday in the Bills' 27-23 loss to the Jets.
EDGE Analysis
Though the Bills were without one of the three tight ends on their roster in Jason Croom (groin), Clay still only played 42 of the team's 76 offensive snaps. That translated to a season-low 55 percent offensive snap share for the 29-year-old, who could continue to lose work to Croom and Logan Thomas over the final three weeks as the Bills look to open up opportunities for their younger options at the position. Clay is under contract through 2019 and carries a $9 million cap hit, but his shaky health and diminishing production could result in him getting cut this offseason.

Clay, returning after missing two games due to a hamstring injury, caught one of two targets for nine yards in Sunday's loss to the Dolphins.
EDGE Analysis
It was the catch that didn't make that stands out, as Clay was wide open in the end zone with seconds left and the Bills training by four. Josh Allen's pass fluttered too much and Clay couldn't come up with, though it would have been a great catch had he dove and help on. Clay may be close to healthy again, but with an awful 20-178-0 line on the season, he can pretty much be safely ignored in fantasy play.

Clay (hamstring) is active Sunday against the Dolphins.
EDGE Analysis
Clay was able to return to practice on a limited basis this week, paving the way for a return to the field for the first time since Week 9. He saw steady work in the offense from Week 2 through Week 8, catching at least one pass in each game, but never surpassing 40 receiving yards and failing to reach the endzone. It's unclear how the Bills plan to work Clay into their game plan at this time, which makes him a bit of a risky fantasy play, though he is listed as a projected starter. The matchup is friendly on paper, at least, as the Dolphins are in the league's top-10 in terms of most fantasy points allowed to opposing tight ends in standard formats, largely due to the eight touchdowns they've surrendered to the position.

Clay (hamstring) practiced on a limited basis for the third straight day Friday and is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Dolphins.
EDGE Analysis
Clay looks like a good bet to return to action after missing the last two contests. Considering he hasn't caught more than four balls or done better than 40 yards or found the end zone even once in 2018, you'd be rolling the dice on Clay even if he achieves active status come Sunday. At least he's getting healthier again, and Clay did finish the 2017 season strong after a series of disappointing starts earlier in the campaign.

Clay (hamstring) remained limited at practice Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
With back-to-back practice appearances, Clay has a shot to return to action Sunday against Miami, the team that drafted him in 2011. If he does suit up, however, he wouldn't be a high-percentage fantasy play in Week 13. In nine games to date, the tight end has logged the modest total of 19 catches (on 31 targets) for 169 yards and zero TDs.

Coach Sean McDermott said Clay (hamstring) would be a limited participant in Wednesday's practice, Joe Buscaglia of WKBW.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
It marks the first time since Clay suffered the hamstring issue in the Bills' Nov. 4 loss to the Bears that he'll be able to practice in any capacity. Given that Clay has been held out of action for the team's past two games, he'll likely need to progress to full participation by the end of the week in order to take back a normal workload in Sunday's game against the Dolphins. Jason Croom and Logan Thomas have split the reps at tight end while Clay has been sidelined the past two contests, with the duo combining for just three receptions for 17 yards on five targets over that stretch.

Clay (hamstring) didn't play Sunday against the Jaguars but hasn't experienced a setback, Matthew Fairburn of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Clay didn't practice last week and missed his second straight game with the hamstring issue, but is apparently making progress in his recovery. The Bills' passing game had little luck against Jacksonville, as QB Josh Allen totaled 160 yards while completing eight of 19 attempts. If Clay can return to practice in some capacity this week it would at least confirm he's making tangible progress.

Clay (hamstring) is inactive Sunday against Jacksonville.
EDGE Analysis
Clay failed to practice in any capacity this week, resulting in a "doubtful" tag entering the Week 12 matchup. With the tight end set to miss his second consecutive game, Jason Croom and Logan Thomas are next up on the depth chart, though neither share the pass-catching upside of a healthy Clay. Prior to the team's Week 11 bye, the duo caught just a single pass for one yard against the Jets, despite Clay being inactive for that contest. Per the Bills' official site, it will be Croom expected to draw the start this time out.

Clay (hamstring) will be listed as doubtful for Sunday's game against the Jaguars, Mike Rodak of ESPN.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Clay will not practice Friday, which has been the case for him all week, and it looks like he will remain sidelined despite the Bills coming off a bye. Jason Croom and Logan Thomas are in line to handle the tight end duties for the Bills once again.
