Chad Ochocinco still needs to be told by teammates where to line up in the Patriots' offense. Ochocinco is not part of New England's no-huddle package because he doesn't know the offense, and the Boston Globe expects there to "be discussions" about where he fits on the team during the Patriots' Week 7 bye. The Patriots showed interest in Brandon Lloyd before he was dealt to St. Louis on Monday, likely confirming their displeasure with Ochocinco. The 33-year-old was only on the field for seven offensive snaps in Week 6.

Chad Ochocinco only played seven offensive snaps in the Patriots' Week 6 win over the Cowboys. He's a non-factor. With multiple reports indicating the Patriots are in pursuit of Brandon Lloyd, Ochocinco could be on the chopping block. Lloyd would add fresher legs and a truer deep threat to the Pats' offense, with Taylor Price potentially taking over for Ocho as the No. 6 passing-game option.

Chad Ochocinco played just 32-of-81 offensive snaps in the Patriots' Week 5 win over the Jets. He only played eight in the second half. Ochocinco remains the Patriots' third receiver behind Wes Welker and Deion Branch, but he's really fifth when you factor in Rob Gronkowski and Aaron Hernandez. Drop Ocho in fantasy leagues.

Chad Ochocinco caught just two passes for 23 yards against the Jets in Week 5. Tom Brady hit Ochocinco on consecutive plays late in the second quarter, but the third wideout was shutout the rest of the way. His only target showed that he's still not on the same page as his quarterback after five weeks. Averaging just 27.2 yards per game, Ochocinco can be dropped in 12-team and 14-team leagues.

Chad Ochocinco caught two passes for 26 yards against the Raiders in Week 4. Ochocinco didn't drop any passes as the third receiver this week, but he was targeted only the two times. The 33-year-old is on pace for just 28 receptions and 452 yards through four weeks.

Tom Brady insists he has "a lot of confidence" in Chad Ochocinco. Brady targeted Ochocinco just four times on Sunday even though he was on the field for 60 of New England's 75 offensive snaps. Ochocinco turned in a dismal performance, dropping a touchdown while seeming to go less than full speed on several snaps. If he again fails to capitalize on Aaron Hernandez's absence in Week 4, it might be time to abandon any hope he'll become a meaningful fantasy contributor this year. That is, if you haven't already.

Chad Ochocinco played 60-of-75 offensive snaps in Sunday's loss to the Bills. As expected, Ochocinco's snap count rose dramatically with Aaron Hernandez (knee) sidelined. The problem is that Ocho couldn't capitalize and had an embarrassing drop on a walk-in touchdown. Julian Edelman played 23 snaps as he pushes the ex-Bengal for the No. 3 receiver job.

CSN New England's Tom Curran suggests Chad Ochocinco is simply not playing well enough for the Patriots to trust him in a larger role. Ocho ran lazy routes against the Bills and had an ugly third-down drop in the fourth quarter in Bills territory. He also negated a Rob Gronkowski catch with a penalty. Curran refers to Ochocinco's performance so far as a Patriot as "embarrassingly bad." Rotating with Julian Edelman as the team's No. 3 receiver Sunday, Ochocinco caught just two balls for 28 yards.

The Boston Globe suggests that Chad Ochocinco's role will grow with Aaron Hernandez (knee) sidelined. The majority of Patriots beat writers are jumping on this thought process. Hernandez was really a third wideout for Tom Brady, often splitting out off the line and being used as the No. 2 option in the passing game. Now the Patriots will be forced to run more pure three-wide sets which will include Ocho. We still wouldn't feel safe using the ex-Bengal, but his snap count will almost certainly rise this week.

Chad Ochocinco played on just 17 of the Patriots' 71 snaps in Sunday's win over the Chargers. Ocho saw 18 snaps a week ago. Beat writer Mike Reiss confirms that the ex-Bengal is not part of the Patriots' highly effective two-receiver, up-tempo package. We doubt Ocho will be anything more than the fifth option in the passing game anytime before the Week 7 bye at best.
