Cedric Tillman
WR CLE (9)

Tillman caught five of eight targets for 52 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 17-16 loss to the Bengals in Week 1.
EDGE Analysis
Tillman snagged a five-yard pass on a crossing route in the back of the end zone for Cleveland's lone touchdown. He also had one of three fourth-quarter drops by Browns receivers. His drop with 1:24 remaining was the dagger, as it bounded off his hands and into the arms of the Bengals' DJ Turner. Despite the drop, a lot went right in Week 1 for Tillman, who saw good target volume and had a 25-yard reception. After flashing in the middle of the 2024 season, a concussion ended the year after Week 12 and left his status for 2025 up in the air. Tillman enters the season as the No. 2 wideout opposite Jerry Jeudy, and nothing that transpired Sunday will change that.

Tillman (thumb) is participating in Tuesday's practice, Scott Petrak of the Elyria Chronicle-Telegram reports.
EDGE Analysis
Tillman missed nearly a week of practice due to a minor thumb injury, but he's now back on the field well in advance of Cleveland's regular-season opener against the Bengals on Sunday, Sept. 7. He's primed to kick off the 2025 campaign as the No. 2 wide receiver, behind Jerry Jeudy, for starting quarterback Joe Flacco.

Tillman missed Wednesday's practice with a non-serious thumb injury, Mary Kay Cabot of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.
EDGE Analysis
He presumably won't play in Cleveland's preseason finale but should be fine for the regular-season opener against Cincinnati on Sun., Sept. 7. Tillman looks to be the No. 2 wide receiver for Cleveland, although it may end up being a fluid depth chart beyond top target Jerry Jeudy. With Joe Flacco named as the Week 1 starter, there's an opportunity for decent receiving production even if the Browns are unlikely to field an efficient offense.

Tillman caught his only target for 18 yards in Saturday's 22-13 preseason win over the Eagles.
EDGE Analysis
The third-year wideout got the start and connected with Dillon Gabriel for a long gain on the Browns' second drive of the day. Tillman's production through his first two seasons has suffered due to injuries and inconsistent quarterback play, but he has shown occasional flashes of upside. He's ticketed for the No. 2 WR spot on the depth chart opposite Jerry Jeudy, and the Cleveland passing game could be a little more stable in 2025 with Joe Flacco expected to be under center.

Tillman (lower leg) returned to practice Saturday, Zac Jackson of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Tillman left practice early Friday but was quickly cleared of a serious injury, and his return to the practice field confirms this was only a scare. The 2023 third-round pick is in line for the No. 2 wideout role in Cleveland behind Jerry Jeudy. Last season, Tillman recorded 29 receptions for 339 yards and three touchdowns across 11 games.

Tillman is believed to be okay after leaving practice early Friday due to a lower left leg injury, NFL reporter Jordan Schultz reports.
EDGE Analysis
Tillman had to leave the field Friday after appearing to hurt his left leg during practice. The specifics of the injury aren't yet clear, but Schultz's report suggests that the 25-year-old wideout isn't dealing with a major issue. That's a sigh of relief for Cleveland and Tillman, who's in line to work as the Browns' No. 2 wideout this season behind Jerry Jeudy.

Tillman left Friday's practice early, walking to the locker room with a member of the medical staff, Zac Jackson of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
ESPN Cleveland reports that Tillman was holding his lower leg after going down in the back of the end zone at the end of a play. It could just be cramping or a bruise, but he ended up missing the rest of practice. The Browns have shaky WR depth even when everyone is healthy, and they already opened camp with David Bell (hip) and Michael Woods (hand) unavailable. Tillman is expected to start after he seemingly broke through in the middle of last season, only to then miss the final month in concussion protocol.

Tillman is expected to have a full-time role in 2025, Zac Jackson of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
Other than inking a baggage-heavy Diontae Johnson to a one-year deal with zero guaranteed money, the Browns didn't do much during the offseason to upgrade the receiving corps. Tillman was having a breakout middle portion of the season in 2024 before a concussion forced him to miss the final six weeks -- he was back on the field for OTAs this summer. Following the departure of Amari Cooper last season, the Browns gave Tillman an opportunity, and he delivered. Over a four-game span, he caught 24 of 40 targets with three touchdowns. He's the biggest target (6-foot-3) among the receiving group and could be a factor in a passing game that may incorporate a lot of deep passes if Joe Flacco is the staring quarterback.

Tillman (concussion) is participating in OTAs and worked alongside Jerry Jeudy with the first-team offense Wednesday, Dan Lebbe of cleveland.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Tillman missed the Browns' final six regular-season games of 2024 while in the concussion protocol and ended the year on IR, so it's encouraging to see him working without any apparent limitations during spring drills. The 2023 third-round pick seems the early favorite to earn the No. 2 receiver spot alongside Jeudy, with Elijah Moore now in Buffalo and veteran Diontae Johnson representing Cleveland's largest splash at wideout this offseason. Tillman was barely involved the first six weeks of 2024, in which span he totaled just six catches for nine yards, but he enjoyed a brief five-game breakout with Jameis Winston under center from Week 7 to Week 12. He put together a 26-330-3 receiving line on 44 targets in those five appearances, with the concussion cutting his Week 12 short at 56 percent of snaps. As Tillman works to translate that production into a true Year 3 breakout rather than a mere flash in the pan, he seems destined to once again have to overcome a quarterback rotation that will carry the risk of subpar play.

The Browns placed Tillman (concussion) on injured reserve Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
Tillman wasn't much of a factor in the Browns' passing game through the first six games of the campaign, but he saw his production take off after Jameis Winston took over under center when Deshaun Watson (Achilles) sustained a season-ending injury in Week 7. Over a four-game stretch from Weeks 7 through 11, Tillman produced a 24-302-3 receiving line on 40 targets while playing at least 80 percent of the offensive snaps in every contest. However, after being forced out early of the Browns' Week 12 win over the Steelers with a concussion, Tillman has made slow progress through the five-step protocol. He's missed each of the Browns' last five games while managing nothing more than limited participant in practice beforehand, and with a Week 18 return seemingly not in the cards, Tillman will be shut down for the season. Tillman should be fully cleared in advance of the offseason program and may have showed enough during his impressive stretch earlier in the season to head into 2025 with a meaningful role in Cleveland's wideout corps.
