Coach Gary Kubiak confirmed Monday the Texans will stick with Case Keenum as their starting quarterback. Houston hosts the Patriots next. "You want to find him some success," Kubiak said of Keenum. "He's going through a growth process." Keenum can't recognize blitzes, which has made him increasingly easy to defend. He is only on the two-QB-league fantasy radar at this point, and is no longer a viable QB1 streamer.

Case Keenum will be the Texans' Week 12 starter at quarterback. "I've got total confidence in him," coach Gary Kubiak said with a straight face at Monday's presser. Kubiak then launched into a convoluted explanation for his knee-jerk benching of Keenum against the Raiders, which did not pan out. Matt Schaub was worse in relief, angering No. 1 receiver Andre Johnson in the process. Keenum's play has tailed off since his first two starts, but not to the extent that he doesn't deserve continued time to grow under center. He's shown enough to keep making starts. Johnson owners should hope he keeps the job. Schaub has shown a baffling inability to get him the ball as much as his talent would dictate.

Coach Gary Kubiak said "we'll see" when asked who his starting quarterback will be going forward. Kubiak pulled a stunning move in the third quarter of Sunday's home loss to the Raiders, yanking Case Keenum in favor of Matt Schaub. Per the Houston Chronicle, Kubiak said he made the move because he wanted to increase the offensive tempo and thought Schaub was better equipped to handle in-game audibles to address protection. Clearly, he doesn't have much faith in either of his quarterback options. Whoever starts in Week 12 will have a dream home matchup with the Jaguars.

Case Keenum was benched in the third quarter of Sunday's Week 11 game against the Raiders. Keenum wasn't playing well, but he wasn't absolutely atrocious. The Texans were down 28-17 at the time of the benching, and Keenum was 13-of-24 for 170 yards with one touchdown and one interception. The offensive line and defense were playing far worse. Still, the Texans strangely chose to go back to pick-six king Matt Schaub as they try to spark a comeback. This Texans team is a rudderless ship right now.

Case Keenum hasn't thrown an interception in 102 pass attempts this season. The franchise record is 110 consecutive attempts without an interception, set ironically by this year's pick-six king Matt Schaub. The stat proves that Keenum is capable of playing an aggressive, schoolyard kind of style while still protecting the football. He has seven touchdowns, zero picks and a 105.1 passer rating through games this season and will be a solid QB2 against the Raiders Sunday.

Case Keenum completed 22-of-43 passes for 201 yards and three touchdowns in the Texans' Week 10 loss to Arizona. He scrambled twice for 13 yards. Two of Keenum's TD went to Andre Johnson on heavily contested catches, and he found rookie TE Ryan Griffin wide open in the back of the end zone on his third. Keenum, however, couldn't engineer a game-winning drive down by three points late in the fourth quarter, making sideline throws way out of bounds and failing to generate second-half offense for the third straight game. Keenum has begun each of his first three NFL starts incredibly fast, only for the bottom to fall out in the third and fourth quarters every time. Still, he warrants serious two-quarterback-league consideration when the Texans face the Raiders' weak pass defense in Week 11.

Case Keenum completed 20-of-34 passes for 350 yards and three touchdowns in Sunday night's Week 9 loss to the Colts. All three of his touchdowns went to Andre Johnson, including an impressive 62-yard pass in the first quarter. He also showed good mobility outside the pocket, adding three carries for 26 yards. Keenum has been a clear upgrade over Matt Schaub the last two weeks, completing 59 percent of his passes for 621 yards and four touchdowns. He'll be a solid QB2 option for Week 10 against the Cardinals.

Case Keenum will start Sunday's Week 9 game against the Colts. Even if Matt Schaub (ankle) were 100 percent, the Texans would have been hard-pressed to turn back to the pick-six machine. Keenum was wildly impressive in his first NFL start prior to the bye, going 15-of-25 for 271 yards with one touchdown and one turnover in a very difficult spot at Kansas City. Now the undrafted rookie gets a chance to run with the job and will be in a far easier situation. The Texans are playing at home and facing a good but not dominant Colts secondary. If Keenum sustains a high level of play, he'll relegate Schaub to a backup role all year.
