Stover continued a support role at tight end behind starter Dalton Schultz. Since returning from a foot injury six games ago, Stover has seven catches (10 targets) for 45 yards. He's been given opportunities as a runner in short-yardage, red-zone situations the last three weeks, but that opportunity never presented itself Sunday.

Stover caught all three of his targets for 22 yards in Sunday's 40-20 win over Arizona in Week 15.

All four of his carries were on 3rd- or 4th-and-one situations, including three inside the red zone. The first two worked, but Indianapolis stopped Stover on successive tries in the fourth quarter. It was a curious decision by the coaching staff to run Stover on 4th-and-one at the Colts' 17-yard line after it didn't work on third down. At the time, Houston was leading, 20-16, and the turnover on downs left the Texans vulnerable to a loss had Indianapolis been able to drive for a touchdown. That Houston added this package for Stover and used it in the red zone slightly enhances the backup tight end's value heading into a Week 14 trip to Kansas City.

Stover was unable to bring in either of his two targets in Thursday's 23-16 win over the Bills in Week 12.

Stover played his second game since returning from a broken foot suffered in the season opener. He was on the field for 20 snaps, which represents an increase from Week 11. He's not a big piece of the offense but is a willing blocker as the No. 2 behind Dalton Schultz.

Stover played 14 snaps and was not targeted in Sunday's 16-13 win over the Titans in Week 11.
