The Commanders released Pringle on Friday, Zach Selby of the team's official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran wideout linked up with Washington in late July, but the team has decided to move in another direction. Pringle's last regular-season action came with the Commanders in 2023, when he recorded 161 receiving yards on 14 receptions across 17 appearances.

The Commanders signed Pringle on Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
Pringle has rejoined the Commanders after playing with Washington during the 2023 season. The veteran wideout tallied 14 receptions for 161 yards and no touchdowns across 17 games last year, and he's expected to compete for another depth role in the Commanders' WR room as the preseason progresses.

Pringle finished the 2023 campaign with 14 catches for 161 yards in 17 games.
EDGE Analysis
The 30-year-old played all 17 games but drew only 22 targets while mostly operating as Washington's fifth/sixth wide receiver. Pringle played more snaps on special teams (195) than on offense (183) and now is scheduled for unrestricted free agency in the offseason. Around half of his career receiving production came in one season (2021) with the Chiefs.

Pringle was unable to find his way on the stat sheet in the Commanders' 45-15 loss to the Dolphins on Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
Pringle played a season-high 28 percent of the team's snaps on offense, but he was never targeted on any of Sam Howell's 23 passing attempts. The veteran wideout remains stuck on 13 receptions on 18 targets for 156 yards and no touchdowns on the 2023 campaign, with his next opportunities coming in Week 14 against the Rams.

Pringle caught each of his three targets for 33 yards and lost a fumble in Sunday's 31-19 loss to the Giants.
EDGE Analysis
The fumble came at the end of a long kick return, spoiling an otherwise-solid day for Pringle, who was one of three Commanders WRs to finish in the range of 25-to-35-percent snap share with Curtis Samuel ejected for fighting. The rotation behind the top three suggests Pringle won't have much value even if Samuel, Terry McLaurin and/or Jahan Dotson misses time over the final month and a half of the season.

Pringle caught his lone target for 16 yards in Sunday's 14-7 loss to the Giants.
EDGE Analysis
Pringle ran only three routes, fifth most among Washington's wide receivers. He could perhaps get a little more playing time in the future if the team grows frustrated with Jahan Dotson, but for now the Commanders seem more inclined to let their 2022 first-round pick work through his struggles. Pringle isn't likely to see more than a target or two Week 8 against Philadelphia.

Pringle caught one of two targets for 10 yards in a 40-20 loss to Chicago on Thursday night.
EDGE Analysis
Pringle is Washington's No. 5 receiver and doesn't stand a great chance to move up the depth chart without an injury, considering the guy ahead of him who has struggled so far (Jahan Dotson) was a first-round pick last year and scored seven TDs as a rookie. Dotson should get the chance to continue working through his struggles, leaving Pringle and Dyami Brown in depth roles unless one of Washington's top three wideouts misses time with an injury. The Commanders travel to Atlanta in Week 6.

Pringle played 13 snaps on offense in Sunday's 35-33 win over Denver, reeling in his lone target for a four-yard gain.
EDGE Analysis
After being limited exclusively to a special-teams role in the Commanders' Week 1 win over the Cardinals, Pringle was able to carve out a small depth role at receiver. He still ranked well behind Terry McLaurin, Jahan Dotson, Curtis Samuel and Dyami Brown and is unlikely to carve out a meaningful passing-game role unless the Commanders lose multiple receivers to injury.

Pringle has a spot on Washington's initial 53-man roster, JP Finlay of NBC Sports Washington reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Commanders are carrying seven wide receivers, including undrafted rookie Mitchell Tinsley. That may not last, but it's not a total shock given that No. 1 receiver Terry McLaurin (toe) is uncertain for Week 1 against the Cardinals. Pringle likely would be only fourth or fifth on the depth chart even if McLaurin were to miss the game.

Pringle agreed to a contract with the Commanders on Tuesday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
EDGE Analysis
After Pringle's disappointing year in Chicago (10-135-2) in 2022, he reunites with his old offensive coordinator, Eric Bieniemy, in Washington. When last playing under Bieniemy in Kansas City back in 2021, Pringle tallied 42 catches for 568 yards and five touchdowns. Expect the veteran wideout to compete for the fourth wide receiver position on the Commanders behind Terry McLaurin, Jahan Dotson and Curtis Samuel ahead of the coming season.
