Wright (illness) won't be available for Sunday's game in Seattle after the Lions didn't activate him from the reserve/COVID-19 list prior to Saturday's deadline for week 17 roster moves, Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press reports.
EDGE Analysis
Detroit will be without three of its top pass catchers in Wright and wideouts Josh Reynolds and Kalif Raymond, all of whom tested positive for the virus this week and weren't able to exit the NFL's COVID-19 return-to-play protocol. With both T.J. Hockenson (thumb) and Shane Zylstra (kneecap) done for the season, Wright was expected to dominate the snaps at tight end for Detroit's final two games before he landed on the reserve/COVID-19 list Tuesday. With Wright out this week, the Lions will likely turn to a combination of Jared Pinkney and Ross Travis to play snaps at the position.

Wright (illness) was placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list Tuesday.
EDGE Analysis
Wright tested positive for COVID-19 Tuesday and will now enter the NFL's protocols for the virus. The tight end operated as the Lions' top option at the position in Week 16 against the Falcons, catching three balls for four yards in the loss. With his status for Week 17 against the Seahawks in question, Jared Pinkney may step into a starting role.

Wright caught three of three targets for four yards during Sunday's 20-16 loss to Atlanta.
EDGE Analysis
Wright got back in the box score after going catchless last week in Arizona, but all of his looks were at or near the line of scrimmage. While the loss of Shane Zylstra (knee) could cement him as Detroit's clear-cut No. 1 tight end, the Notre Dame product doesn't seem to have the skill set or role to be a worthwhile fantasy contributor in Week 17 against Seattle.

Wright was targeted once but did not catch a pass during Sunday's 30-12 win over the Cardinals.
EDGE Analysis
Wright trailed Shane Zylstra in offensive snaps last week against Denver, but this time Wright logged three quarters of the playing time while Zylstra was held under half of it. However, neither tight end found much success as a receiver despite Detroit finding immense offensive success. As such, neither of Wright or Zylstra is worth much fantasy consideration, especially with Jared Goff (COVID-19) uncertain to play Sunday against Atlanta.

Wright caught three of five passes for 20 yards during Sunday's 38-10 loss to the Broncos.
EDGE Analysis
Wright seemed in store for a heightened load with T.J. Hockenson (hand) sidelined. While Wright certainly was more involved as a receiver, he did it while not topping 60 percent of the offensive snaps. Instead, Shane Zylstra led Detroit tight ends in snaps, though neither managed a useful stat line for fantasy purposes. Even if Hockenson remains sidelined Week 15 against Arizona, neither Wright nor Zylstra will be worthy of much fantasy consideration.

Wright is set to serve as the Lions' top tight end Sunday in Denver with T.J. Hockenson (hand) doubtful to play in the contest, Justin Rogers of The Detroit News reports.
EDGE Analysis
An undrafted rookie, Wright didn't make it past roster cut-down day at the end of the preseason, but the Lions elevated him from the practice squad twice before signing him to the active roster for good Nov. 8 in the wake of Darren Fells' release. Since the Lions' Week 9 bye, Wright has earned between 28 and 51 percent of offensive snaps over the last four games, compiling four catches (on six targets) for 42 yards and one touchdown. The team will be without its top two running backs D'Andre Swift (shoulder) and Jamaal Williams (COVID-19) on Sunday, so Detroit may air it out a bit more than usual.

Wright caught two of three targets for 28 yards and one touchdown during Sunday's 29-27 win over Minnesota.
EDGE Analysis
Running as the No. 2 tight end behind T.J. Hockenson, Wright took advantage of a Vikings defense without top linebackers Eric Kendricks or Anthony Barr to score his first career touchdown. However, he's caught a pass in just half of his first six career games since the undrafted tight end was first promoted from the practice squad in late October. Wright would need to build upon this performance in a big way in order to enter the fantasy conversation.

Wright secured his only target for two yards during Sunday's 16-16 tie with Pittsburgh.
EDGE Analysis
With Darren Fells now in Tampa Bay, Wright is the second tight end on the depth chart under T.J. Hockenson. However, the 6-foot-7, 281-pound blocking specialist is unlikely to become a productive receiving threat at any point down the road.

Wright was moved to the active roster Monday, Tim Twentyman of the Lions' official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
Wright was an undrafted free against out of Notre Dame, who has been with the Lions since camp. He was active in Week 7 and 8, playing 31 snaps on offense and 30 on special teams. Wright has yet to see his first NFL target. In a corresponding move the Lions released veteran TE Darren Fells.

Wright reverted to Philadelphia's practice squad Monday, per the NFL's official transaction log.
EDGE Analysis
Wright was brought up to the active roster for Week 8 against the Lions, and he logged 16 snaps on offense along with 10 on special teams. This marks the second game in a row that he's made an appearance.
