The Patriots failed to tender restricted free agent S Bret Lockett, making him an unrestricted free agent. As injury prone as they come, Lockett has ended the last three seasons on injured reserve, most recently with a groin injury. Still only 25-years-old, though, the former UCLA standout could get a camp invite with a chance to compete for a role on special teams.
