McGee didn't quite survive long enough to be a part of the 75-man roster, while the Lions have four clear top options at cornerback in Darius Slay, Nevin Lawson, Quan Diggs, and Darrin Walls. The team could bring back McGee sometime during the regular season if injuries occur and they need additional depth.

The Lions seem comfortable entering the 2016 campaign with Darius Slay, Nevin Lawson, Quan Diggs and Darrin Walls serving as their top four cornerbacks, but the signing of McGee, at the expense of the recently-waived Keith Williams, may signal the team is unsure of the depth behind them. Johnson Bademosi, Crezdon Butler and Alex Carter figure to join McGee as the primary competition for what may ultimately be one or two roster spots.

McGee (foot) was placed on injured reserve Saturday, Jim Thomas of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports. "Doesn't look good" were the ominous words from coach Jeff Fisher after McGee aggravated his foot injury in Week 8, and as it turns out, the second-year corner will indeed be forced to miss the rest of the season. McGee notched four tackles (three solo) in his two games this year, giving him 18 (14 solo) for his NFL career.

McGee (foot) re-aggravated his foot injury this week and is out for Sunday's game against Kansas City, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports. Coach Jeff Fisher said the injury "doesn't look good," which certainly is not a good sign. With Trumaine Johnson and Janoris Jenkins also ailing, the Rams' secondary is struggling to even keep enough defensive backs on the field.

McGee (foot) has been ruled out for Sunday's game, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports. Trumaine Johnson is already out for a few more weeks, so the Rams are hurting at the cornerback position. McGee has played decent so far but Marcus Roberson and perhaps LaMarcus Joyner will see more time with McGee out.

ESPN.com's Nick Wagoner considers fifth-round pick Brandon McGee a candidate for the Rams' nickel corner job. McGee got an extended look with the first-team defense Friday and will continue to push Trumaine Johnson in camp. Cortland Finnegan moves into the slot in the Rams' nickel package, so McGee is competing to start opposite Janoris Jenkins.

Rams signed fifth-round CB Brandon McGee to a four-year contract. McGee, the No. 149 overall pick, started 25 games at Miami, and he really boosted his draft stock with a 4.40 forty at the Combine. Expect him to see plenty of action on special teams as a rookie.
