Jets worked out free agent TE Brad Cottam on Tuesday. The Jets are looking for a backup tight end who can make plays in the passing game after losing Jeff Cumberland for the season. Cottam hasn't played since breaking his neck at the end of the 2009 season.

Chiefs waived TE Brad Cottam. Cottam broke his neck at the end of the 2011 season and it's unclear if he could pass a physical now. The Chiefs are fine at tight end with promising second-year man Tony Moeaki.
