Rainey totaled 39 yards on two kickoff returns and 41 yards on two punt returns in Sunday's 23-19 victory over the Falcons.
EDGE Analysis
The return man extraordinaire had a very productive afternoon, ripping of 20-yard-plus returns on both kickoffs and punts. He ceded one kickoff runback to rookie Donteaa Dye, but otherwise helped set up Tampa in solid field position on three of his four opportunities with the ball. Rainey continues to serve as one of the best return men in the NFL, and his savvy has helped Jameis Winston and the offense largely avoid unfavorable field position throughout the season.

Rainey netted seven yards on one punt return and generated no other statistics in Sunday's 25-12 loss to the Colts.
EDGE Analysis
The Tampa special teams ace barely touched the ball Sunday, getting only one opportunity to post a return and not receiving any carries from scrimmage. The one positive was that he did not fumble, after having coughed up the football in each of the prior three games. Rainey will look to resume a more active role in the Bucs' Week 13 showdown versus the Falcons.

Rainey gained five yards on his sole carry, netted 20 yards on his sole kickoff return, and amassed 19 yards on three punt returns in Sunday's 45-17 victory over the Eagles.
EDGE Analysis
Rainey received only his third carry of the season in the blowout, a game in which Tampa set a team record for most rushing yards in a game. He also had another productive day on returns, notching a 10-yard punt runback and also having a 23-yard return called back due to a penalty on Major Wright. Notably, the fourth-year pro also fumbled for the third consecutive week, although as has been the case the previous two games, he was able to recover. Rainey's value continues to be exclusively based on his special teams role.

Rainey did not post any kickoff return yardage in Sunday's 10-6 victory over the Cowboys, but did net three yards on one punt return. He also fumbled once but recovered.
EDGE Analysis
The fifth-year pro had one of his quietest days overall on the season to date, with Cowboys kicker Dan Bailey posting touchbacks on all three of his kickoffs during the game. He did manage to create some excitement and net three yards on his one punt return, which came after he muffed the ball initially on the Bucs eight-yard line. Rainey figures to continue in his role as Tampa's all-purpose return man for the balance of the season, a job that he has generally thrived in throughout the year.

Rainey gained three yards on his sole carry, garnered 87 yards on four kickoff returns, and gained one yard on his sole punt return in Sunday's 32-18 loss to the Giants. He also fumbled once but recovered.
EDGE Analysis
Rainey continues to put together solid performances in the return game for the Bucs, and he posted a nice 26-yard runback on a kickoff as part of his 88 total return yards Sunday. The third-string tailback also logged his first carry from scrimmage since the opener, but was only able to gain three yards. Rainey does not figure to see any appreciable playing time outside of special teams unless top running backs Doug Martin and Charles Sims succumb to injury.

Rainey secured his sole target for four yards, gained 15 yards on one kickoff return, and amassed 18 yards on three punt returns in Sunday's 31-30 loss to the Redskins.
EDGE Analysis
Rainey had impressive runs of 12 and nine yards on two of his returns, and continues to average over 12 yards per runback as one of the league leaders in the category. The Bucs' third tailback continues to receive minimal playing time from scrimmage as both Doug Martin and Charles Sims have been particularly proficient over the last three games, but has emerged as a valuable special teams weapon.

Rainey amassed 85 yards on three punt returns in Sunday's 38-31 victory over the Jaguars.
EDGE Analysis
Rainey continued his strong special team play with his productive day on punt returns, and two of his runbacks kickstarted drives that eventually led to Doug Martin touchdowns. His game-high 58-yard return in the second quarter set the Bucs up at the Jaguars' 17-yard line, leading to the starting tailback's 10-yard jaunt into the end zone on a third-down reception. Meanwhile, Rainey's 25-yard sprint midway through the third quarter allowed Jameis Winston and company to start the ensuing drive at the Jaguars' 40, a possession that culminated in Martin's one-yard leap into the end zone. On a team that must endure the trials and tribulations inherent in starting a rookie quarterback, Rainey's weekly special teams contributions have been integral in frequently shortening the field for the Bucs' offense.

Rainey returned three kickoffs for a total of 92 yards and brought back two punts for a total of 15 yards in Sunday's 37-23 loss to the Panthers.
EDGE Analysis
Rainey continues to acquit himself well on special teams and has especially excelled on kickoffs, where he ripped off a long return of 38 yards Sunday. He is currently third in the NFL in total kick return yardage and fifth in average per return. Rainey did not see a carry or target from scrimmage for the second consecutive week.

Rainey returned one kickoff for 27 yards and totaled 48 yards on five punt returns in Sunday's 19-9 loss to the Texans. He also fumbled twice but was able to recover both.
EDGE Analysis
Rainey made his mark exclusively on special teams this week, including punt returns of 23 and 13 yards. On the former, Rainey made a questionable decision to field the ball on the Bucs three-yard line, but redeemed himself by finding enough of an opening to set Jameis Winston and company up with some breathing room. His two fumbles are concerning, but Rainey avoided disaster on both occasions by recovering. As customary, Rainey's running back duties will be determined on a week-to-week basis, but he retains a hold on both returner spots at present.

Rainey did not register a carry but did secure his one target for eight yards in Sunday's 26-19 victory over the Saints. He also gained 37 yards on his one kickoff return and tallied 34 yards on three punt returns.
EDGE Analysis
Rainey's role on plays from scrimmage will very likely vary week-to-week, but he retains a hold on both top returner spots, where he was productive once again in Week 2. Rainey provides valuable insurance as an every-down tailback behind Doug Martin, and also is a dependable checkdown option for Jameis Winston when he's in the ballgame.
