A competent blocker who also has 45 catches in 42 career games, Patrick could be a nice addition for the Chiefs if he can pass his physical. He has been injury prone since entering the league in 2007, however.

The 27-year-old's sudden retirement early in training camp was to take care of "some personal issues and family issues." The Giants have released Patrick's rights. He admits he'll be "kind of starting over" while waiting for a team to call. As long as he's in shape, Patrick should get an opportunity as an injury fill-in this season.
