Edwards (knee) was waived-injured Wednesday after being diagnosed with a torn ACL over the weekend, Jordan Raanan of NJ Advance Media reports.

The former Richmond Spider spent most of the 2015 season on the practice squad and was active for the final two seasons of the campaign. He was carted off the field for precautionary reasons during a minicamp practice in April and he ultimately tore his ACL during rookie minicamp over the weekend. Edwards was waived in order to clear room on the 90-man roster for a tryout player.

Edwards was diagnosed with a mild left knee sprain on Thursday, Art Stapleton of the Record reports.

EDGE Analysis

Edwards went down with what looked to be a serious knee injury, but further examination revealed optimistic results and he should be able to resume offseason workouts. He appeared in just the final two games of the Giants regular season in 2015, recording a single catch for nine yards on two targets.
