Ravens worked out free agent RB Beanie Wells.
The Ravens are likely just updating their emergency list while on a bye. Wells has been on the street since the Cardinals cut him way back in March. Guys like Peyton Hillis, Brandon Jacobs, Jonathan Dwyer and Willis McGahee have all gotten jobs before him.

The Giants worked out free agent RBs Beanie Wells and Jonathan Dwyer on Tuesday.
It's the first we've heard of Wells since June. The Giants also worked out Leon Washington, and have "spoken to" Kevin Smith, Tim Hightower and Ryan Grant. They'll almost certainly sign a veteran back in the very near future, but will likely wait until after Week 1, when teams are no longer required to guarantee the contracts of vested veterans.

A source tells the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette free agent Beanie Wells has a "BAD wheel."
The Cardinals were reportedly "not optimistic" about Beanie's knees before releasing him, and it appears his Steelers physical produced the same result. Plagued by knee woes throughout his career, knee and toe issues cost Wells half of 2012. Wells may need to take a few months to get as healthy as possible before finding a new home.

The Steelers had free agent Beanie Wells in for a physical earlier this week.
The Cardinals were reportedly "not optimistic" about the condition of Wells' knees before releasing him. Steelers doctors may have found something they didn't like as well, as he left club headquarters without a contract. It's fair to wonder if Wells might need a knee surgery before he finds a landing spot.

Per beat writer Kent Somers, the Cardinals were "not optimistic" about the state of free agent Beanie Wells' right knee.
Wells has first-round caliber talent and won't turn 25 until August, but his injury history is going to be a major red flag. He missed eight games last year with knee/toe issues and also struggled with right knee issues in 2010.

The Bengals hosted free agent Beanie Wells on Tuesday.
Per Yahoo's Mike Silver, Wells is "apparently exploring other options" now. The Steelers are also rumored to have some interest. The Bengals have also "poked around" Reggie Bush and Rashard Mendenhall. Per Silver, Bush is "too expensive" despite Cincy's untapped salary cap wad and Mendenhall is "being wooed aggressively" by the Dolphins. (In addition to the Broncos and Cardinals.)
