Foster announced his retirement from the NFL on Monday, Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network reports
EDGE Analysis
Foster has decided to call it a career in the middle of his eighth season in the league. The 30-year-old has seen his production dip over the last season and a half, and has had trouble staying on the field. The veteran back released a statement to go along with the announcement where he declared he is "walking away with peace", and that his body no longer can "take the punishment this game asks for". Foster spent his first seven seasons with the Texans before landing with the Dolphins this past offseason. He will retire with 6,527 yards rushing, 2,346 yards receiving, and 68 touchdowns.

Foster only had three rushes for five yards and one reception for four yards Sunday as the Dolphins defeated the Bill 28-25.
EDGE Analysis
Foster may be quiet for the immediate future as well since he has clearly lost his starting job to Jay Ajayi. Foster was the starting running back to open the season but the hamstring injury opened the door for Ajayi and he seems to have slammed it shut behind him. The best chance for Foster to get on the field now could be as a pass catcher out of the backfield.

Foster (hamstring) is active for Sunday's Week 7 tilt versus the Bills.
EDGE Analysis
The veteran running back had practiced fully all week and will shed his injury designation for Sunday's Week 7 tilt. However, with Jay Ajayi's explosive 204-yard outing against the Steelers last Sunday, it's unclear how much work Foster will receive against a stingy Bills front seven.

Despite being listed as a full practice participant all week, Foster (hamstring) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Bills.
EDGE Analysis
Foster's full practice participation at practice suggests that he's likely to be active for Sunday's 1:00 ET tilt, but the questionable designation is an acknowledgment that the veteran back -- who missed time earlier this season -- is not yet 100 percent. Meanwhile, Jay Ajayi's 25-carry, 204-yard rushing effort in Week 6 puts him atop the Dolphins' RB pecking order for now.

Foster was a full participant once again in Thursday's practice, but he still isn't fully recovered from his groin strain, the South Florida Sun-Sentinel reports.
EDGE Analysis
Foster finished with five touches in his return from a three-week absence last Sunday versus the Steelers. Although teammate Jay Ajayi's 204-yard explosion stole the spotlight, Foster still isn't ready for a full workload, with coach Adam Gase saying it's clear he's a step slower than usual following his injury. While Foster's complete practice participation should help him return to full form, Ajayi should continue to lead Miami's backfield attack Sunday versus Buffalo.

Foster (hamstring) practiced fully Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
Per the Palm Beach Post, Foster "asked to practice on Wednesday, which is not typical, because he wanted to push his injured hamstring and groin." As the veteran back attempts to distance himself from his latest round of aches and pains, the reality as Sunday's game against the Bills approaches is that Jay Ajayi's 25-carry, 204-yard rushing effort in Week 6 puts him atop of the Dolphins' RB pecking order for now. In the meantime, Foster -- who rushed three times for three yards, and added two catches for 12 yards on two targets this past Sunday against the Steelers -- profiles as a complementary option.

Foster was still somewhat limited by his hamstring in Sunday's win over the Steelers, the Palm Beach Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
Foster returned from a three-week absence with a limited role off the bench behind Jay Ajayi, who shockingly led the team to victory behind 204 rushing yards and a pair of scores. Foster only had five touches for 15 yards, and while his limited contribution may have been related to the injury, Ajayi still made a convincing case to maintain the lead-back role. Foster thus figures to work as a complementary option in Week 7 against the Bills, potentially getting most of his snaps on passing downs.

Foster (hamstring) rushed three times for three yards, and added two catches for 12 yards on two targets Sunday against the Steelers.
EDGE Analysis
Foster was used sparingly in his return, and was mostly limited to watching as fellow Dolphins running back Jay Ajayi exploded for over 200 yards on the ground in a 30-15 win. The injury-prone veteran originally beat out Ajayi for the starting job in camp, but looks to be a clear second on the depth chart at this point. Don't expect that to change any time soon based on their play in this one.

Foster (hamstring) is listed as active for Sunday's game against the Steelers.
EDGE Analysis
After initially going with a committee approach in Foster's absence, and then rolling largely with Jay Ajayi (13/42/1) in Week 5, we suspect that the 1-4 Dolphins would prefer to feature Foster as much as possible (spelled by Ajayi) on Sunday, so long as his hamstring holds up.

Foster (hamstring) is expected to play Sunday against the Steelers, NFL Network's Aditi Kinkhabwala reports.
EDGE Analysis
We'll confirm Foster's status in advance of Sunday's 1:00 ET kickoff, but it looks like the veteran back is poised to return to the Dolphins' lineup following a three-game absence.
