Gibson (toe) is active for Sunday's game at Dallas.
EDGE Analysis
Clearly, Gibson was held out of practice this week due to the toe injury he picked up Tuesday in Philadelphia for maintenance-related purposes. Now that he's confirmed to be available to the offense, he's poised for his typical 14.7 touches per game, though Jaret Patterson, Jonathan Williams and Wendell Smallwood are available for any RB reps that linger.

Gibson (toe) is a game-time decision for Sunday night's game against the Cowboys, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
EDGE Analysis
Though Gibson didn't practice this past week due to a toe injury, Rapoport suggests that there's some optimism the running back could be able to give it a go. Given that Washington kicks off at 8:20 ET on Sunday, ideally those considering Gibson in Week 16 lineups would have alternatives available. Options include running backs from Dallas, Miami, New Orleans and those behind Gibson on Washington's depth chart, starting with Jaret Patterson.

Washington lists Gibson (toe) as questionable for Sunday's game in Dallas, John Keim of ESPN.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
After logging 21 touches for 65 yards from scrimmage in Tuesday's loss to the Eagles, Gibson didn't log any practice activity Wednesday through Friday while nursing the toe injury he sustained Week 15. Per Matthew Paras of The Washington Times, head coach Ron Rivera said Gibson is dealing with an injury similar to the turf toe issue the running back dealt with in 2020, which sidelined him for a pair of games. Washington remains hopeful that Gibson will be ready to go by the time Sunday arrives, but with the game kicking off at 8:20 p.m ET, fantasy managers planning on including him in weekly lineups could be in a bind if he winds up on the inactive list. Jaret Patterson is the next man up for touches out of the Washington backfield, while fellow reserve back Jonathan Williams also could see an enhanced role if Gibson is limited or sits out Week 16.

Gibson (toe) didn't participate in Thursday's walk-through practice, John Keim of ESPN.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Gibson has been playing through a stress fracture in his shin for most of the season, but it's a toe injury that has kept him off the field for Washington's first two practices of Week 16. The 23-year-old appeared to pick up the injury during Tuesday's 27-17 loss to the Eagles, but he was able to check back into the contest and compiled 65 yards from scrimmage and a touchdown on 21 touches (15 carries, six receptions). Washington may just be exercising some extra caution with Gibson with the Football Team facing a quick turnaround for its Week 16 game in Dallas, but the running back will likely need to practice in some capacity Friday to have a chance to play Sunday. With J.D. McKissic (concussion) on injured reserve, Jaret Patterson is the next man up for touches behind Gibson in the backfield.

Gibson was listed as a non-participant on Wednesday's practice estimate due to a toe injury, Matthew Paras of The Washington Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
Gibson made a brief exit from Tuesday's loss at Philadelphia and played sporadically after his return to the game, finishing with 21 touches for 65 yards and one rushing TD. Meanwhile, reserve running backs Jaret Patterson and Jonathan Williams combined for five carries, 25 yards and one score. With a short week to prepare for Sunday's game in Dallas, Washington didn't hold a practice Wednesday, so Gibson's status could be clarified further once the team logs some on-field work Thursday and/or Friday.

Gibson rushed 15 times for 26 yards and a touchdown and brought in six of seven targets for 39 yards in Washington's 27-17 loss to the Eagles on Tuesday night.
EDGE Analysis
Gibson overcame a minor toe injury early in the contest to log a solid workload, but there was little running room to be had against a surprisingly stout Eagles front. However, the second-year back did make a sizable impact through the air, pacing the team in receptions in the process. Gibson may have a more favorable matchup as a rusher in a Week 16 road battle against the Cowboys on Sunday night.

Gibson (toe) returned to Tuesday's game against the Eagles, JP Finlay of NBC Sports Washington reports.
EDGE Analysis
Gibson was deemed questionable to return after picking up the toe injury during the first quarter, but he was able to retake the field without missing too much time. He'll continue to lead Washington's backfield as long as he remains healthy.

Gibson exited during the first quarter of Tuesday's game against the Eagles with a toe injury.
EDGE Analysis
Gibson carried seven times for 20 yards and had two receptions for 25 yards during the first quarter before exiting with the injury. Jaret Patterson and Jonathan Williams should split the backfield work for Washington while Gibson is sidelined.

Gibson and Washington will no longer play the Eagles on Sunday, after the NFL officially rescheduled the matchup between the two teams for Tuesday at 7 p.m. ET.
EDGE Analysis
Due to ongoing COVID-19-related issues within Washington's organization, the NFL is hopeful that by delaying the game two days, the Football Team will restore enough players from the reserve/COVID-19 list to alleviate depth concerns on the roster. Assuming the game is held Tuesday as expected, Gibson could be on track to fill a three-down workhorse role out of the Washington backfield, as pass-catching specialist J.D. McKissic hadn't resumed practicing as of Thursday and may not be on track to clear the five-step concussion protocol.

Gibson ran for 36 yards on 10 carries and lost a fumble against Dallas on Sunday.
EDGE Analysis
Gibson is capable of breezing past 20 carries in close games or ones where Washington has the lead, but Sunday, the Football Team was only able to get within striking distance in the fourth quarter. Gibson's opportunity level dwindled as a result, leaving him with his lowest carry count since Week 8. Gibson also lost his fourth fumble of the season Sunday, certainly a worrisome trend. His first opportunity to bounce back comes on the road against the Eagles in Week 15.
