Free agent wide receiver Antonio Bryant was arrested on Tuesday for assault.
Bryant reportedly strangled the mother of his child and was booked on charges of domestic battery by strangulation, domestic violence, and culpable negligence. Bryant, 31, was signed by the Seahawks in the offseason with a host of other veteran receivers, but he only lasted ten days in camp. This probably puts a fork in Bryant's career.

Seahawks released WR Antonio Bryant and signed K Carson Wiggs.
Bryant lasted ten days in camp, and it probably bodes poorly for the 31-year-old's NFL outlook that he was dumped for a camp kicker. The Seahawks recently added Braylon Edwards, which was probably the first solid sign that Bryant didn't have much left in the tank. He'll head back to unrestricted free agency.

Seahawks signed WR Antonio Bryant, formerly of the Bengals.
It's not clear if the Bryant acquisition will preclude the Seahawks from also signing Braylon Edwards, though we suspect the team would have held off if the latter was impressive in Thursday's workout. Following the release of Mike Williams, the team was seeking a receiver with starting experience to complement a green receiving corps. Now 31 years old and nearly three years removed from his last NFL reception, Bryant won't be guaranteed a roster spot. He was admittedly out of shape during a June tryout.

Seahawks coach Pete Carroll acknowledged that free agent WR Antonio Bryant was "not in very good shape" during this week's tryout.
"When we get a chance to see him in really great condition I think he would be a competitive aspect of this thing," Carroll said. "He's not there right now though. He's a ways away and he admits that." The Seattle Times translates Carroll's comments to mean the Seahawks won't be signing Bryant any time soon.

Free agent WR Antonio Bryant will attend the Seahawks' minicamp this week.
Bryant has been out of the league since 2009, but the Seahawks will give him a chance to revive his career at the age of 31. After a career year in 2008, he suffered a knee injury during the 2009 season. He hasn't played a snap since despite signing a four-year, $28 million contract with the Bengals prior to the 2010 season. He'll look to follow in Mike Williams' footsteps as a successful Pete Carroll revival project.
