Collins was released by the Buccaneers on Tuesday, Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
Collins was released after the first season of a five-year, $30 million contract that included $9 million guaranteed. He was bad enough that his eventual release was viewed as a given by the time the season ended. Collins should still draw some interest as a swing tackle or potential low-end starter, but he'll have to settle for a much smaller contract this time around.

Bucs signed LT Anthony Collins to a five-year, $30 million contract.
The deal includes $15 million guaranteed. Collins was our No. 4 tackle in free agency, behind only Eugene Monroe, Jared Veldheer and Branden Albert. The former Bengal was a dominant pass blocker last season, giving up zero sacks, one quarterback hit and 12 quarterback hurries even though Andy Dalton attempted 586 passes. Collins is an upgrade on oft-overweight Donald Penn, who is now firmly on the trade block. The Raiders should be on the phone.

The Tampa Bay Times reports free agent LT Anthony Collins will choose between the Bucs, Bengals, and Panthers.
Per Bucs beat writer Greg Auman, all three clubs have offered Collins "comparable money." Collins would be a huge get for Carolina, which recently lost LT Jordan Gross to retirement. Collins visited Tampa Bay on Wednesday.

Free agent OT Anthony Collins will visit the Bucs.
The Bucs are viewed as the heavy favorites to sign the former Bengal, so it's quite possible he doesn't leave Tampa. With the tackle market gutted in the first hour of free agency, Collins is the top option remaining.

The Baltimore Sun reports the Buccaneers are expected to sign free agent OT Anthony Collins "provided that he doesn't re-sign with the Bengals."
Per the report, Tampa would pay Collins $6.5 million to $7 million per year. The Bengals remain very much in play, as the Bucs are also negotiating with Rodger Saffold. If the Bucs signed Collins, it's possible they'd release LT Donald Penn. Collins is a left tackle. Saffold is a guard/right tackle.

NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reports the Bengals are working on a deal with free agent LT Anthony Collins.
Collins remains likely to test the market, but the Bengals are "hoping" to re-sign him before the start of free agency next week. He graded out as a top-25 left tackle in pass protection last season and is drawing interest from multiple teams. Re-signing Collins would allow Cincinnati to keep Andrew Whitworth at left guard moving forward.

The Bengals are interested in re-signing impending free agent LT Anthony Collins, but are willing to let him test the market.
Collins was stellar in pass protection last season, and re-signing him would allow the Bengals to keep OL Andrew Whitworth at the guard position he flourished in the second half of 2013. Cincinnati is prepared to let Collins walk, however, if another team is willing to pay over the odds. The best-case scenario for the Bengals is Collins finds a soft market and returns at a discounted price. Collins is our No. 5 free-agent offensive tackle.

The Bengals would like to re-sign free agent OT Anthony Collins.
Collins, 28, started the final six games, including the playoff loss to the Chargers, at left tackle and was stellar in pass protection. It allowed Pro Bowl LT Andrew Whitworth to kick inside to left guard where he dominated physically. Collins checks in as our No. 5 free-agent offensive tackle, behind Carolina's Jordan Gross.

Bengals re-signed OT Anthony Collins.
Collins, 26, will return as the Bengals' "swing" tackle behind LT Andrew Whitworth and RT Andre Smith. Young with a solid track record in 18 career starts, Collins has encountered work ethic and character red flags since coming out of Kansas in 2008. His signing is still a strong one for the Bengals.

Coach Marvin Lewis has cleared OT Anthony Collins of any wrongdoing in the pot bust at Jerome Simpson's house.
"The only thing I know is that Anthony Collins wasn't involved in anything at all," Lewis said. "The other thing (the investigation of Simpson), I'm not allowed to comment about anything so we'll just move forward and get ready to play football." Collins just happened to be at Simpson's house at the time of the delivery.
