Colts head coach Chuck Pagano said he expects Luck (shoulder) to report to the team's facility this week, Kevin Bowen of 1070 The Fan Indianapolis reports.
EDGE Analysis
Since having his throwing program shut down in late October before ending up on injured reserve, Luck has spent the last several weeks in Europe to receive treatment for his surgically repaired right shoulder. Though it was initially believed that Luck wouldn't require a follow-up procedure on his labrum, the team plans to see how the quarterback looks during a throwing and rehab regimen in early January before it's decided if another surgery is necessary, according to Bob Kravitz of WTHR.com. Another update on the status of Luck's health should come within the next few weeks, which would bring more clarity for his 2018 outlook.

When Luck returns from his treatments in Europe, he will resume a throwing regimen that will ultimately determine whether he needs corrective surgery to his biceps tendon, Chris Mortensen of ESPN reports.
EDGE Analysis
A decision on further surgery could be made by mid-January. This report contradicts recent statements from Colts owner Jim Irsay who said last week that Luck won't require an additional procedure during the offseason. Luck has been out since January surgery for a torn labrum in his throwing shoulder. It sounds like Luck's status for the 2018 season will continue to be uncertain throughout the offseason.

Colts owner Jim Irsay said Luck (shoulder) won't require an additional procedure during the offseason and will return to the field in 2018, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports. "He's doing great," Irsay said, in reference to Luck's response to rehab and treatment. "He's doing well. [We're] disappointed obviously it's taken as long as it's taken. You know, medicine and the way it goes. But there hasn't been any unusual setback. We didn't find out anything ominous, something we didn't know about or anything like that. It's just taken time for him to go through his whole aspect of rehabbing and progressing and working through the soreness."
EDGE Analysis
The Colts were hopeful that the surgery Luck required to address a torn labrum in his right shoulder last January wouldn't impact his availability for the start of the regular season, but the franchise signal caller never ended up taking the field in 2017 after experiencing recurring soreness and swelling that resulted in ongoing setbacks for his recovery. Since being shut down for good in early November, Luck has headed overseas to Europe to receive further treatment on the shoulder, which has reportedly been beneficial. Jacoby Brissett will finish out the final three games as the Colts' starter before heading the reins of the offense back over to Luck, health permitting.

Luck traveled to Europe to receive additional treatment on his surgically repaired right shoulder, Mike Wells and Chris Mortensen of ESPN reports.
EDGE Analysis
With Luck failing to progress as expected following the January procedure to address a torn labrum he initially sustained in 2015, the Colts finally elected to shut the franchise quarterback down for good earlier this month by moving him to season-ending injury reserve. Luck intends to rest the shoulder for a few months in order to let the recurring soreness he had experienced in recent workouts subside, but in the meantime, it appears he's being proactive in exploring additional ways to tend to the injury. The Colts are unlikely to issue a formal timetable for Luck's recovery any time soon, so it's too early to predict whether or not he'll be able to take part in offseason workouts next spring.

Luck, who the Colts placed on season-ending injured reserve Thursday, recently met with doctors, who recommended the quarterback shut down his throwing program for around 1-to-3 months, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
EDGE Analysis
Colts general manager Chris Ballard noted earlier Thursday that Luck won't require a second surgery to address the labrum in his right shoulder, with the 28-year-old indicating in a statement issued by the team that he's "very optimistic" about his outlook heading into the 2018 season. Instead, Luck will turn his focus to rehabbing and strengthening the shoulder over the next several weeks before likely gradually increasing the distance and frequency of his throwing during the offseason. With Luck out of commission the rest of the season, Rapoport Ian Rapoport of NFL Network that the Colts are preparing to sign a No. 3 quarterback to offer additional depth behind starter Jacoby Brissett and backup Scott Tolzien. Veteran Josh Johnson was among those who stood amount the most to the Colts' brass during a private workout earlier this week.

The Colts will place Luck (right shoulder) on IR.
EDGE Analysis
As a result, Luck will not practice or play again for the rest of the 2017 season, with the Colts' franchise QB now turning his attention to next season, while noting Thursday that he's "very optimistic" about his future. In Luck's continued absence, Jacoby Brissett will remain the team's starting signal caller.

Head coach Chuck Pagano said Monday that Luck (shoulder) won't participate in practice this week, Bob Kravitz of WTHR.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
After suffering a setback in mid-October, Luck received a cortisone shot in his surgically-repaired right shoulder, pushing off his first potential snaps of the season to the weekend after Thanksgiving, at the earliest. In the meantime, he hasn't been cleared for practice as he seeks multiple opinions from specialists, specifically with lingering pain in mind, according to Mike Chappell of fox59.com. With no timetable for Luck's return, the Colts will continue to entrust the offense in the hands of second-year quarterback Jacoby Brissett.

Luck has sought additional medical opinions to help determine why he's still dealing with pain in his right shoulder, fox59.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
According to Jay Glazer of Fox Sports, the QB started feeling pain in his shoulder after throwing couple of weeks ago. In any case, Luck -- who underwent shoulder surgery back in January -- remains without a timetable for a return and it's reasonable to speculate that he could potentially be done for the season. In his absence, Jacoby Brissett has served as the Colts' starting signal-caller.

Colts head coach Chuck Pagano said Luck (shoulder) would be limited to rehabbing activities this week and wouldn't take part in practice.
EDGE Analysis
The Colts are shutting down Luck's throwing program for the second straight week, which was fully expected after he suffered a setback in his recovery from offseason right shoulder surgery earlier this month. Assuming Luck experiences no renewed soreness in his shoulder during the upcoming days, he could resume light throwing early next week, but that shouldn't be interpreted as a sign that his season debut is forthcoming. While the Colts have previously stated that Luck will play at some point in 2017, it's looking increasingly likely that he could be at least a month away from doing so. Once he initiates the throwing program again, Luck is expected to gradually increase the intensity and frequency of his workouts, and it could take multiple weeks before he's able to log full practices on back-to-back days. Jacoby Brissett still looks to be safely entrenched as the Colts' starting quarterback through at least the team's Week 11 bye.

The Colts aren't expected to place Luck on injured reserve following the quarterback's recent setback with surgically repaired right shoulder, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
EDGE Analysis
Luck won't practice during the upcoming week and perhaps not for the rest of October, but it's expected that he'll gradually increase his activity shortly thereafter as he resumes a throwing program. While their franchise signal caller's recovery from the offseason procedure has taken far longer than initially anticipated, the Colts aren't closing the door on Luck playing in 2017, though the club has yet to reveal an official timetable for his return.
