Though Luck (right shoulder) could return to practice as soon as this week, Stephen Holder of the Indianapolis Star suggests that the QB is expected to "need significant practice time" before he sees game action.
EDGE Analysis
Luck is thus inching toward an eventual return to action, with Jacoby Brissett, who led the Colts to 31-28 win over the Browns on Sunday, slated to handle the team's QB duties in the meantime. While a target date for Luck's first game in 2017 has not yet been mapped out, it seems pretty safe to assume that his season debut will not occur in Week 4.

Luck (shoulder) is expected to return to practice as early as this coming week, Chris Mortensen of ESPN reports.
EDGE Analysis
According to Mortensen, Luck recently contacted Drew Brees, who recommended he get in touch with his physical therapist Kevin Wilk. Luck hasn't suffered a setback during the joint effort between Wilk and the Colts, setting up a potential return to drills in the near future. Assuming Luck completes the final stages of his recovery, he'll definitely play this season, no matter where the Colts stand record-wise, per Stephen Holder of The Indianapolis Star.

Luck (shoulder) has been ruled out for Sunday's matchup with the Browns, Zak Keefer of The Indianapolis Star reports.
EDGE Analysis
On Sunday morning, FOX's Jay Glazer relayed that Luck remains behind schedule and will miss 3-4 more weeks, so head coach Chuck Pagano's announcement Monday was expected. Because he's unable to make all the throws he must make before taking part in practice, Luck will yield quarterback duties to Jacoby Brissett.

Luck (shoulder) still isn't able to make all the throws he needs to do before participating in practice, and probably will miss another three-to-four weeks, Fox's Jay Glazer reported on their Sunday pregame show.
EDGE Analysis
This falls in line with other reports describing Luck's lack of progress. Be prepared to see plenty of Jacoby Brissett and Scott Tolzien over the next few weeks.

Luck (shoulder) has been ruled out of Sunday's game against Arizona and it's not certain if he'll practice this week, head coach Chuck Pagano told Mike Chappell of of CBS 4 News Indianapolis.
EDGE Analysis
Luck will likely need a week or two of practice before he returns, so it seems like his return won't be for a few weeks unless he surprisingly returns to practice this week. Pagano was uncertain whether Scott Tolzien or Jacoby Brissett would start this week after Tolzien struggled last week.

Luck (shoulder) is without a timetable for returning to practice and appears to be several weeks away from being considered for a return to the Colts' gameday roster, Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports reports.
EDGE Analysis
According to sources close to Luck, the quarterback has nearly completed a program to strengthen his throwing shoulder and could return to practice "sooner rather than later," but the Colts aren't willing to put a definitive timeline on when that might happen. As a result of the multiple hurdles he still has to clear before receiving the green light to play in games -- among which is said to include at least a full week of practice time, per La Canfora -- Luck looks more likely than not to miss all three of the Colts' September contests, if not further action beyond that. On a more positive note, sources have said that Luck hasn't experienced any setbacks in his rehab, and the Colts are simply having the quarterback proceed slowly through the recovery process due to his long-term value to the franchise. In the meantime, the Colts will turn to journeyman Scott Tolzien as their starting quarterback for the Week 1 matchup with the Rams, with the newly acquired Jacoby Brissett acting as Tolzien's backup.

Luck (shoulder) did not practice Friday or any time this week, head coach Chuck Pagano confirmed to Kevin Bowen of 1070 am Indianapolis. He's been ruled out of Sunday's game against the Rams.
EDGE Analysis
Luck has yet to practice this year after surgery to repair a slightly torn labrum in his throwing shoulder in January. He may need more than one week of practice before he's ready to return, so his lack of participation this week lowers the odds he'll return for Week 2.

Luck (shoulder) did not practice Wednesday. He's already been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Rams, GM Chris Ballard said on Monday.
EDGE Analysis
Although Luck won't play this week, his return to practice soon is key if he's going to play in Week 2. Although Luck was removed from the Physically Unable to Perform list Saturday, there's still no timetable for when he will begin practicing. Scott Tolzien will be the team's starter against the Rams.

Colts general manager Chris Ballard ruled Luck (shoulder) out for Week 1, saying Scott Tolzien will be the team's starter against the Rams, Zak Keefer of The Indianapolis Star reports.
EDGE Analysis
Luck was removed from the Physically Unable to Perform list on Saturday, but team owner Jim Irsay admitted the quarterback likely wouldn't be ready for Week 1. It won't be surprising if Luck misses more time beyond the opener, considering he still hasn't practiced with the team.

Luck was removed from the Physically Unable to Perform list Saturday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Colts only would've kept Luck on the PUP list if he had no shot to return within the first six games of the season. Team owner Jim Irsay recently admitted that Luck is unlikely to play Week 1 against the Rams, but there's at least still some hope the star quarterback will be available early in the season. The Colts traded for Jacoby Brissett on Saturday, adding another option alongside Scott Tolzien to help at quarterback in Luck's absence. Brissett presumably doesn't have enough time to prepare for Week 1, but Tolzien's shaky preseason performance suggests the former Patriot may have an opportunity to start if Luck misses multiple games.
