Bengals RT Andre Smith (ankle) has resumed practicing. Smith should be good to go for Week 14 against the Texans' "Bulls on Parade" defense. Although he has a reputation as a strong run blocker, Smith actually grades out better in pass protection this season, according to Pro Football Focus.

Bengals RT Andre Smith was forced from Sunday's game in the second quarter with a right ankle injury. Finally making good on his first-round pedigree this year, Smith needed help to limp off the field. He's officially questionable to return.

Bengals RT Andre Smith is finally beginning to live up to his first-round draft status from two years ago. Smith's coming out party was two weeks ago when he shut down Pro Bowler Robert Mathis with no help from teammates. Regarded as a better run blocker than pass protector, Smith will have his hands full this week with run-stuffer Red Bryant -- the biggest defensive end in the NFL.

The Bengals have opted out of the final two years of RT Andre Smith's rookie contract. The deal was originally for six years, but Smith is now signed only through 2012. The former No. 6 overall pick in the draft, Smith has managed just five career starts through two NFL seasons. The Bengals are now projecting him as their starting right tackle, and Smith is believed to be having a strong camp.

Bengals RT Andre Smith will start at right tackle in the preseason opener Friday. It's taken three years, but it appears Smith has finally secured some stability. Friday's game will be his first ever preseason appearance as weight issues and injuries have crippled him previously. The former No. 6 overall pick has the upside to be an asset for Cedric Benson, who badly needs holes to run through.

Bengals RT Andre Smith reported to the team facility Tuesday weighing in at 338 pounds. Smith has been known to report way out of shape in the past, and has struggled to keep his weight down dating back to Alabama. 350 pounds is his threshold to avoid game-check fines, so it's a good sign that he's well below that mark. Still, Smith was in a walking boot recovering from left foot surgery as recently as last month. It's unclear if he's ready to practice.
