Caldwell (arm) was released from the Lion's injured reserve on Monday.
EDGE Analysis
Caldwell's release is likely the result of an injury settlement, though that hasn't been confirmed. He was expected to make the team when he was signed back in May, but the signings of Anquan Boldin and Andre Roberts, coupled with his broken hand, made that nearly impossible, which is why he was placed on IR for the year and why the team decided to part ways with him.

The Lions have placed Caldwell (hand) on injured reserve, the Detroit Free Press reports.
EDGE Analysis
Caldwell broke a bone in his hand early last week and was unable to take part in Detroit's preseason opener versus Pittsburgh. Although he seemed likely to make the team when signed in May, the additions of Anquan Boldin, as well as Andre Roberts to a lesser extent, put that likelihood in question. Now, the Lions will likely release Caldwell with an injury settlement.

EDGE Analysis
The nature and severity of his injury remain undisclosed. Caldwell is currently in competition for Detroit's No. 5 and No. 6 wide receiver job.

The Lions and Caldwell agreed to a contract Wednesday, MLive.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Since receiving sporadic starts with the Bengals during a four-year stint to kick off his career, Caldwell was lightly used with the Broncos over the past four seasons, totaling 32 catches (on 70 targets) for 337 yards and five touchdowns across 54 games. He took on part-time duty as a kick returner as well, averaging 23.2 YPR on 25 attempts over the last three campaigns, but he merely hauled in his only target while returning a pair of kicks in Denver's Super Bowl victory in February. If he lands on the Lions' 53-man roster out of training camp, he'll serve as depth for a receiving corps that's attempting to weather the loss of Calvin Johnson to retirement.

Caldwell caught his lone target in Sunday's victory over the Panthers for 22 yards.
EDGE Analysis
Caldwell's sideline catch came on the Broncos' opening drive and helped set up a field goal lead that they never relinquished. Caldwell caught just 10 passes in 14 games in 2015, but recorded a reception in each of Denver's three playoff matchups. They may be his last as a Bronco. With Cody Latimer already on the books for 2016 and younger options to retain in free agency including Bennie Fowler and Jordan Norwood, Caldwell may be the odd man out.

Calwell had one catch on one target for one yard Sunday against the Ravens.
EDGE Analysis
Caldwell was wide open on a play toward the end of the first half but quarterback Peyton Manning didn't look his way. Jordan Norwood, who is behind Caldwell on the depth chart, finished with two catches on five targets for 25 yards, while Cody Latimer didn't get a single ball thrown his way. Emmanuel Sanders and Demaryius Thomas will continue to dominate the touches, so Caldwell's fantasy upside is quite limited.

Caldwell caught both of his targets for 85 yards and a touchdown in Thursday's preseason game against the Cardinals.
EDGE Analysis
Caldwell will likely open the season as Denver's No. 4 wide receiver, but he could eventually move up a spot if Cody Latimer doesn't improve upon his lackluster preseason performance. Of course, as a 2014 second-round selection, Latimer should have a pretty long leash to work with.

Caldwell had three catches on four targets for 31 yards Sunday against the Rams. Caldwell set season-highs in receptions and receiving yards, and he could continue to see his usage increase, as Emmanuel Sanders suffered a concussion Sunday that could keep him out in Week 12 against the Dolphins. Additionally, tight end Julius Thomas was knocked out of the game in the first quarter with an ankle injury, which leaves a big void in the passing game that Caldwell figures to be a part of now.

Caldwell (knee) is active for Sunday's game against the Jets. Caldwell suffered a knee injury last Sunday against the Cardinals, but was able to practice fully all week, which prompted his active status Sunday. Despite being in uniform, there are just too many receiving options available to quarterback Peyton Manning to make Caldwell relevant in most fantasy leagues.

Caldwell is questionable to return after leaving Sunday's game against the Cardinals in the third quarter with a knee injury. Isaiah Burse could see a few snaps in Caldwell's absence, but the Denver offense shouldn't be much different without its No. 4 wide receiver. Caldwell had no receptions on one target at the time of his exit.
