Patriots released TE Alge Crumpler. Combined, the Patriots' cuts of Crumpler, Nick Kaczur, and Ty Warren saved $8.9 million in base salary. The salary cap savings are lower, however, particularly for Warren. Crumpler underwent major offseason shoulder surgery and probably wasn't fully recovered. The 33-year-old might return later on.
