Blue will start Sunday against the Giants in place of Arian Foster, who is inactive due to a hamstring injury.
While Blue will get the start, Jonathan Grimes and Ronnie Brown are also on hand to grab a few carries if needed. The Giants are 12th against the run this season through two games after allowing 124 to the Cardinals in Week 2.

Blue could be in line for an expanded workload in Sunday's game against the Giants, if teammate Arian Foster is unable to suit up, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports.
The report suggests that Foster could be a long-shot to play Sunday, and if he ends up sitting or being limited at all, then Blue would likely be next line for the Texans' carries, with Jonathan Grimes and Ronnie Brown also on hand.

Blue had 11 carries for 40 yards in Sunday's 30-14 win at Oakland.
Most of Blue's work came late in the game while Houston was up big, but the thing to note is that he had eight more carries than Jonathan Grimes. Lots of things can change, but as of now, it looks like Blue would be first in line if anything ever happened to Arian Foster.

Blue recorded one carry for zero yards in Sunday's win over Washington.
The Houston Chronicle notes that Blue was on the field for just two plays Sunday, while fellow RB Jonathan Grimes was on the field for eight plays. Meanwhile, top back Arian Foster recorded 57 plays. The small sample size doesn't provide a ton of clarity to the team's backup RB situation, though it is obvious that Foster is on track to remain the team's clear-cut top back as long as he remains healthy.

Blue lost three yards on four carries and gained 26 yards on two receptions in Thursday's preseason finale against the 49ers.
Blue started but was outplayed by Jonathan Grimes, who recorded 33 yards on eight carries and 11 yards on one reception. According to CSN Houston's Dave Zangaro, Blue was listed ahead of Grimes on the most recent preseason depth chart. The two would likely split work in the event of an Arian Foster injury, but it's still unclear how the backup touches will be divided in Week 1.

Blue gained 27 yards on nine carries in Saturday's preseason game against the Broncos.
Blue technically got the start, but he also played into the third quarter, while Jonathan Grimes, who is listed No. 2 on the depth chart, recorded all six of his touches in the first half. Grimes scored on a one-yard touchdown plunge in the second quarter, but Blue had converted a fourth-and-one on the previous play. With Arian Foster likely to play in Week 1, Blue probably won't have much of a role to start the season. However, should anything happen to Foster, Blue could factor into the early-down and goal-line work. Grimes looks like the better handcuff, especially in PPR leagues.

Blue and Jonathan Grimes got most of the carries during Tuesday's practice, the Houston Chronicle reports.
Blue is positioned as the third running back on the depth chart after starter Arian Foster (hamstring) and Grimes, who was the breakout performer in Houston's preseason loss Saturday.

With the Texans releasing three running backs Monday, Blue is positioned as the third back on the depth chart. He's behind Jonathan Grimes, who has become the backup to Arian Foster. The Texans also brought in two backs, Ronnie Brown and William Powell.
The shakeup has re-shuffled the names to consider as Foster's backup. Head coach Bill O'Brien is hopeful that Foster, who sat out the preseason opener with an undisclosed injury, will be able to play this week against the Falcons. But the number two back is still a job that bears watching, considering Foster's heavy workload and recent injury history. Blue, who has made an impact in training camp, was the second running back used in Saturday's preseason opener.

Blue worked as the No. 2 running back in Saturday's preseason opener against the Cardinals, gaining 30 yards on five carries and 14 yards on two receptions.
Listed No. 4 on the initial depth chart, Blue worked behind only Jonathan Grimes, who was listed fifth or sixth. Arian Foster (undisclosed) was ruled out ahead of time, but no explanation has been given for Andre Brown's absence. Dennis Johnson, who is listed third on the depth chart, got a few touches in the fourth quarter. It'll be interesting to hear what coach Bill O'Brien says, as all of this may have been fairly meaningless in terms of regular-season consequences. Blue is thought to be jockeying with Johnson for the No. 3 role behind Foster and Brown.

Blue is listed fourth on the depth chart for Saturday's preseason opener against the Cardinals, the Texans' official site reports.
Blue has received high marks during training camp and should see some carries in the first preseason game. Between Blue and starter Arian Foster, who is looking doubtful to play due to a hamstring injury, are Andre Brown and Dennis Johnson.
