Blue worked as the No. 2 running back in Saturday's preseason opener against the Cardinals, gaining 30 yards on five carries and 14 yards on two receptions. Listed No. 4 on the initial depth chart, Blue worked behind only Jonathan Grimes, who was listed fifth or sixth. Arian Foster (undisclosed) was ruled out ahead of time, but no explanation has been given for Andre Brown's absence. Dennis Johnson, who is listed third on the depth chart, got a few touches in the fourth quarter. It'll be interesting to hear what coach Bill O'Brien says, as all of this may have been fairly meaningless in terms of regular-season consequences. Blue is thought to be jockeying with Johnson for the No. 3 role behind Foster and Brown.
