Blue is out there if you need him Sunday, and while the rushing yards have been tough to come by for him of late, in his role atop the Texans' backfield depth chart, he looks to be in a decent spot Sunday, against a porous Saints' defense.

All 16 players the Texans listed on their Week 12 injury report drew probable designations, but given that Blue was one of just three limited at Friday's practice his status is still worth confirming in advance of Sunday's 1:00 ET kickoff.

Blue rushed 21 times for 58 yards and caught all three of his targets for 34 yards and a touchdown, which came on a pass from wideout Cecil Shorts, during Sunday's 24-17 win over the Jets.

EDGE Analysis

Blue continues to get a healthy chunk of the backfield touches, as Jonathan Grimes rushed six times for 37 yards and Akeem Hunt rushed twice for four. Blue has always been more of a volume accumulator than a back averaging 5.0 YPC, though he has a great chance to improve in Week 12 against a porous Saints defense.

Blue rushed 12 times for 22 yards and caught one pass for nine yards in Monday's win over the Bengals.

EDGE Analysis

Blue was given double-digit carries for the second straight week, but once again averaged under three yards per rush. In fact, teammate Jonathan Grimes finished as the Texans' leading rusher Monday with 33 yards on only six carries. While Blue could continue to see a healthy amount of touches going forward, he'll have to find more running room to stave off conceding snaps to others in Houston's backfield.

Blue started at running back in Week 8 with Arian Foster (Achilles) shelved for the season. He finished with 14 carries for 39 yards and caught all five of his targets for 33 yards.

EDGE Analysis

Once again, the Texans ground game offered little balance, requiring the passing game to generate offense. The difference between this game and others that have ended in losses was the defense showing up and preventing the Titans' offense from doing anything. It was encouraging to see Blue involved in the passing game so much -- those five targets / catches are season highs. But as a rusher, take away Blue's big game against Tampa Bay in Week 3, and he has has 43 carries for 134 yards (3.1 ypc) and zero touchdowns.

Blue carried the ball just three times for eight yards in Sunday's game against the Dolphins, but he could be in line for an expanded workload, as starter Arian Foster suffered a torn Achilles tendon in the fourth quarter.

EDGE Analysis

The second-year back saw mixed results as a starter in Foster's absence earlier this season, and has now rushed for 234 yards and a touchdown on 60 carries this season. Chris Polk is likely to play a large role in the offense as well, and is a more accomplished receiver out of the backfield, but Blue is the likelier of the two to see the majority of rushing attempts. Jonathan Grimes is also in the mix, but the Texans could elect to add another back as well.
