Blue played exclusively on special teams in Sunday night's loss to the Patriots, the Houston Chronicle reports.
EDGE Analysis
Blue didn't play a single offensive snap Sunday, opening the door for the likes of Chris Polk, Jonathan Grimes and Akeem Hunt to handle Houston's running back duties to varying degrees. While Blue was reportedly unaware of his reduced role until just prior to kickoff, he remains the Texans' leading rusher on the season, and understanding of the team's committee backfield approach. Knowing that, it's possible Blue could return to the fold going forward, but his Week 14 fantasy goose egg is still worth explaining.

Blue (back) was a full participant at practice Friday.
EDGE Analysis
Blue is coming off a game in which he played just nine offensive snaps and had four carries, and his back injury wasn't the culprit. Head coach Bill O'Brien admitted that he rode the hot hand -- Chris Polk led the Texans with 61 yards on 12 carries, the Houston Chronicle reports. Both Polk and Jonathan Grimes played more than Blue. O'Brien indicated the running-back mix will change for Sunday night's home game against the Patriots, so maybe that means Blue returns to the lead back role.

Blue (back) rushed four times for 14 yards and went untargeted in the passing game in Sunday's 30-21 loss to the Bills.
EDGE Analysis
In terms of yards gained, Blue finished behind Chris Polk (61 yards), Jonathan Grimes (28) and quarterback Brian Hoyer (15). Blue was a limited participant in practice all week and was de-emphasized in the game plan because of his injury.

Blue (back) is listed as probable for Sunday's game against the Bills.
EDGE Analysis
Blue was limited at a couple practice sessions this week, but he will be able to play through his sore back in Week 13. Blue reached the end zone in each of his last two games, and he will look to make that three in a row Sunday against a Bills defense that allowed a running back to find paydirt in six of its last seven games.

Head coach Bill O'Brien believes Blue (back) will be able to play in Sunday's game against the Bills, Tania Ganguli of ESPN.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Blue has been slowed by a sore back this week, but O'Brien does not think that the setback will prevent him from playing in Week 13. The Texans will provide another update on Blue's status when they release their final injury report of the week Friday afternoon.

More on Blue's Week 13 status Friday, but so far there has been nothing to suggest that his status for Sunday's game against the Bills is in any danger.

Blue (back) was limited at practice Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
Blue was also limited at practice this past Friday before suiting up Sunday against the Saints and carrying 16 times for 77 yards and a touchdown. With no report setbacks in play following that contest, we suspect that Blue's limitations Wednesday were maintenance-related.

Blue carried 16 times for 77 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's win over the Saints. He also turned his only target into a four-yard gain.
EDGE Analysis
The second-year back averaged a season-high 4.8 yards per carry and scored for just the second time Sunday. Blue continues to see plenty of action on a weekly basis, and while he is often inefficient with his touches, he has solidified his position as the Texans' first choice out of the backfield. Blue and company will travel to take on the Bills in Week 13.
