Blue is signing a one-year contract with the Jaguars, Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle reports.
EDGE Analysis
Blue doesn't offer much in the way of speed, explosiveness or receiving skills, but his ball security and reliable grinding between the tackles allowed him to pile up 742 touches in 73 games for Houston the past five seasons. He now finds a new home in the AFC South, joining a Jacksonville team with minimal backfield depth behind Leonard Fournette. The situation should allow Blue to compete for the No. 2 job, though he'll likely get some competition from the draft or the later stages of free agency. The Jaguars would be wise to add a running back with superior pass-game skills at some point before the start of training camp.

Blue is visiting with the Jaguars on Monday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
EDGE Analysis
The 2014 sixth-round pick displayed little in the way of explosiveness during his five seasons with Houston, averaging 3.6 yards on 673 carries and 6.8 yards on 69 receptions while scoring 10 touchdown in 73 games. Blue at least does a good job avoiding fumbles, and his 225-pound frame theoretically could make him useful in short-yardage situations. He'll have a chance to compete for the No. 2 running back job if he signs with Jacksonville, as the team currently has just two players -- Dave Williams and Thomas Rawls -- behind starter Leonard Fournette.

Blue carried twice for eight yards and caught two passes for 11 yards in Saturday's 21-7 wild-card round loss to the Colts.
EDGE Analysis
Blue didn't get a chance to play a larger role after Indianapolis scored touchdowns on three of its first four possessions, putting the Texans in desperate comeback mode early. That meant shelving the ground game in favor of a passing attack. Blue, who becomes an unrestricted free agent in 2019, was a valuable backup for the Texans, who played the first 12 games without D'Onta Foreman (Achilles). Foreman did not make an impact upon his return, which is unsurprising given the history of players that suffered similar injuries, so Blue remained the top backup to Lamar Miller for the final weeks of the season. The 28-year-old Blue has substantial history with the organization and could return as a depth option, depending on how Foreman responds next year.

Blue had three carries for 12 yards and caught two of three targets for another 12 yards in Sunday's 20-3 win over the Jaguars.
EDGE Analysis
Blue's involvement was cut back with the return of Lamar Miller, but it's notable that the Texans didn't activate D'Onta Foreman for Week 17. That suggests Blue will be the top backup in the first round of the playoffs next Saturday at 4:35 pm, when Houston hosts Indianapolis in the AFC Wild Card Round.

Blue is expected to start after Lamar Miller (ankle) was ruled out for Sunday's contest against the Eagles.
EDGE Analysis
Saturday's injury designation doesn't necessarily mean Blue will get the majority of the carries, however, as D'Onta Foreman looms as a potential option out of the Texans backfield. That's in part due to the fact Blue failed to make much of an impact Week 15 after Miller left the game following the team's first possession, carrying the ball nine times for just six yards while playing in 77 percent of the offensive snaps. Foreman, who was activated off the PUP list Dec. 4, was a healthy inactive last week, but it would be a genuine surprise to see him held out in Week 16 given Miller's lack of availability. As such, fantasy owners eager to pick up the next waiver wire star will need to monitor the news coming out of Houston in the coming days to see which of the two backs is the one to own.

Blue will start at running back if Lamar Miller (ankle) is unavailable Week 16 against the Eagles, Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle reports.
EDGE Analysis
Miller has made steady progress since spraining his ankle against the Jets last week, so there's a chance he'll be ready to go Sunday, but head coach Bill O'Brien remains noncommittal. In the event Miller is inactive, Blue would likely get the call over D'Onta Foreman, who could be active for the first time this year following his recovery from a ruptured Achilles' tendon.

Blue carried nine times for eight yards and played 77 percent of Houston's offensive snaps in Saturday's 29-22 win over the Jets.
EDGE Analysis
Blue was given an expanded role after Lamar Miller (ankle) left the game midway through the first quarter. The injury to Miller is not considered major, per Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle, but we need to see how he responds in the coming days as the Texans turn their gaze to Week 16's road game in Philadelphia. Should Miller be impacted next week, Blue is the logical replacement as the starting running back.

Blue rushed six times for 21 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 24-21 loss to the Colts.
EDGE Analysis
After both teams stalled on their first two possessions, the Texans took the ball a third time and engineered an 82-yard drive that culminated in Blue's three-yard touchdown run. It was his first carry inside the five-yard line since Week 6 and first touchdown since opening week. Pending how Houston wants to use D'Onta Foreman Week 15 against the Jets and beyond, Sunday might have been Blue's last chance as the No. 2 back.

Blue rushed 13 times for a season-high 54 yards in Sunday's 29-13 win over the Browns.
EDGE Analysis
Houston trails only Seattle in running plays called, so there's lots of work for Blue as the No. 2 back behind Lamar Miller. He hit double-digit carries for the fourth time in five games, but he hasn't found the end zone since Week 1. The running game has fueled the Texans' nine-game winning streak, and they may not want to muck it up by forcing D'Onta Foreman (Achilles) into the mix ahead of Blue.

Blue carried 13 times for a season-high 49 rushing yards while catching his lone target for another 13 yards in Monday's 34-17 win over the Titans.
EDGE Analysis
The Texans once again favored the ground attack, calling 34 runs to 24 passes. That's been their preferred formula since quarterback Deshaun Watson sustained rib and lung injuries earlier this season. That run-pass mix has led to double-digit touches for Blue, who averages 11.6 carries/receptions per game. However, his usage will be impacted when the Texans eventually activate D'Onta Foreman (Achilles), who is entering the third week of a three-week rehab window.
