Seattle placed Collins (abdomen) on injured reserve Tuesday, ending his season, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Seahawks signed running back Josh Johnson off the practice squad to join the roster as a replacement for Collins, who has been troubled by the abdominal injury off and on throughout the season. Prior to being sidelined for four out of Seattle's last five games -- three times due to the abdomen injury and once due to a stint on the reserve/COVID-19 list -- Collins had picked up six starts in the wake of Chris Carson's season-ending neck injury. Despite the big opportunity afforded to him, Collins averaged a pedestrian 3.8 yards per carry and found the end zone twice over his 11 appearances on the season. Collins' absences in recent weeks opened up more work for Rashaad Penny, who has seized control of the lead role out of the backfield with three games of 130-plus rushing yards in his last four outings.

Collins (abdomen) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Lions,
EDGE Analysis
Collins will take a seat for the third consecutive game, but unlike the Week 16 loss to the Bears, the veteran running back technically is sitting Sunday due to his lingering abdominal injury. Rashaad Penny once again should handle lead-back duties for Seattle versus Detroit's vulnerable run defense.

Collins (abdomen) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against Detroit, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
With Rashaad Penny taking over as the lead back down the stretch this season, Collins was inactive last week despite being cleared from the final injury report. He isn't likely to see more than a handful of touches even if he plays this Sunday.

Collins (abdomen) practiced in a limited fashion Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
Collins seemingly is in a holding pattern, as he's only missed practice since Week 11 prep when he was away from the team from Dec. 16-22 due to a bout with COVID-19. While only one of his three absences over the last four games was attributed to the virus, the others technically were healthy scratches. Coach Pete Carroll spoke of Collins on Monday, telling Bob Condotta of The Seattle Times that the running back didn't play this past Sunday versus the Bears because the Seahawks "need to make sure that he is back all the way." If Collins is unable to prove as much, either by being ruled out Friday or getting the inactive tag Sunday, DeeJay Dallas and Travis Homer will be the players to mix in behind current No. 1 RB Rashaad Penny.

Collins (abdomen) was limited at Wednesday's practice, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
Collins has missed three of the last four games due to a combination of a lingering abdominal injury and a bout with COVID-19. Speaking of the running back Monday, coach Pete Carroll told Bob Condotta of The Seattle TImes that Collins "just got back (from the reserve/COVID-19 list), and we just need to make sure that he is back all the way." Considering Collins still has a cap on his practice reps at the beginning of Week 17 prep, he may not be ready yet to join what is a relatively healthy backfield led by Rashaad Penny, with DeeJay Dallas and Travis Homer in reserve roles. Collins has two sessions left this week to prove his health ahead of Sunday's contest against the Lions.

Collins (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Bears.
EDGE Analysis
Collins missed the Week 15 loss to the Rams while on the reserve/COVID-19 list and in the final stages of his recovery from an abdominal injury. The veteran running back shed the former designation Wednesday and was back to full practice participation by Friday, indicating the latter issue also seemingly was resolved. Nevertheless, Collins will serve as what amounts to a healthy scratch Sunday, leaving the Seattle backfield in the hands of some combination of Rashaad Penny, Travis Homer and DeeJay Dallas.

Collins (abdomen) doesn't have an injury designation for Sunday's game against the Bears, Bob Condotta of The Seattle Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
Collins has been playing through a groin/abdomen injury for most of the year, sitting out just once (Week 13) because of it, though he did miss last week's game on the reserve/COVID-19 list. Collins also lost the lead role to Rashaad Penny, most recently seeing seven carries and one target on 23 percent of snaps in the Week 14 win over Houston.

Collins (abdomen) practiced in a limited capacity Thursday, Michael-Shawn Dugar of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
This has been the norm for Collins for a good portion of the campaign. Assuming he's cleared to play this weekend -- whether it's via Friday's injury report or ahead of Sunday's 4:05 p.m. ET kickoff -- he likely will work in a secondary role out of the Seahawks backfield behind Rashaad Penny and alongside DeeJay Dallas. However, fellow running back Travis Homer (illness) is a candidate to be activated from the reserve/COVID-19 list and be available to the offense.

Collins (abdomen) was listed as a limited participant on Wednesday's estimated practice report, Michael-Shawn Dugar of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
While the Seahawks activated Collins from the reserve/COVID-19 list Wednesday, he still is dealing with an injury to his midsection. He joins current top running back Rashaad Penny and DeeJay Dallas on the active roster, with Travis Homer (illness) still on the COVID-19 list himself. Assuming Collins can play through his health concern and Homer is unable to clear league protocols, he'll contend with Dallas for reps behind Penny in Sunday's game against the Bears.

Seattle activated Collins (illness) from the reserve/COVID-19 list Wednesday, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.
EDGE Analysis
Collins should be available for Sunday's game against the Bears, though likely just as the backup to Rashaad Penny, who has taken double-digit carries in three straight games. Assuming Seattle is comfortable with Penny as its lead option on the ground, Collins likely won't have much of a role in the game plan, as head coach Pete Carroll seemingly prefers DeeJay Dallas and Travis Homer (reserve/COVID-19 list) for passing-down work.
