Jones is slated to sign a one-year deal with the Vikings, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
EDGE Analysis
Per Schefter, Jones' deal with Minnesota is worth $7 million. The move comes just one day after the 29-year-old was released by Green Bay after turning down a pay cut, according to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network. With the Vikings, Jones will have a chance to lead a backfield that also includes Ty Chandler, with Alexander Mattison having recently been released by the team.

The Packers released Jones on Monday after reaching agreement with RB Josh Jacobs on a contract, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
EDGE Analysis
Packers GM Brian Gutekunst said in February that he expected Jones to be back with the team in 2024 for the final year of his contract. The 29-year-old RB enjoyed one of the best stretches of his career at the end of the 2023 season and into the playoffs, but his $12 million in non-guaranteed compensation for 2024 meant staying with the Packers was never a sure thing. The team ended up releasing Jones less than an hour after reports of an agreement being reached with Jacobs, who now takes over as the lead back in coach Matt LaFleur's well-designed offense. Age and durability are reasonable concerns with Jones, but the strong finish to 2023 should have him in good position to land a starting RB job with another team.

Jones rushed the ball 18 times for 108 yards in Saturday's 24-21 loss to the 49ers. He added three receptions on six targets for eight yards.
EDGE Analysis
Jones continued to dominate work out of Green Bay's backfield with AJ Dillon (neck) sidelined and topped 100 rushing yards for the fifth consecutive game. He recorded the Packers' longest play from scrimmage with a 53-yard scamper midway through the fourth quarter -- which helped set up a crucial field-goal attempt -- and averaged 6.0 yards per carry for the third time in his last five contests. After being limited by hamstring and knee injuries for much of the season, Jones ended the campaign in excellent form and should be back with the team in 2024 to lead the backfield.

Jones (knee/finger) doesn't have an injury designation for Saturday's divisional-round game in San Francisco, Tom Silverstein of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
EDGE Analysis
For a sixth week in a row, the Packers are managing Jones' practice reps due to the MCL sprain that sidelined him Weeks 12-14. In five appearances in the meantime, he's racked up 606 yards from scrimmage and three rushing TDs on 109 touches, which includes four straight games surpassing the century mark on the ground. Green Bay is listing fellow running back AJ Dillon (thumb/neck) as questionable for Saturday's contest, but even if he puts an end to a two-game absence, he likely won't cut into Jones' workload too much considering how the latter has been playing of late.

Jones (knee/finger) was deemed a limited participant in Wednesday's walk-through practice.
EDGE Analysis
Jones has played in five straight games since missing Weeks 12-14 with a knee injury, including four in a row with at least 20 carries and 111 rushing yards. The Packers continue to limit his practice participation, but Jones' two largest snap shares of the season came in the past two games and he should be busy once again in this Saturday's divisional round playoff game at San Francisco.

Jones was listed as a limited partiipant on Tuesday's practice estimate due to both a knee and finger injury, Matt Schneidman of The Athletic reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Packers did not have an official practice Tuesday, so this is just an estimation of what Jones' status would have been. The veteran running back had a monster day in Green Bay's wild-card victory over the Cowboys to the tune of 118 yards and three touchdowns on 21 rushes. Given his heavy workload, it is not surprising to see him on the injury report to start the week. AJ Dillon (neck) has missed three straight games and was listed as a non-participant, so Patrick Taylor and Emanuel Wilson are currently the only two healthy options behind Jones on the depth chart.

Jones rushed 21 times for 118 yards and three touchdowns in Sunday's 48-32 wild-card round win over the Cowboys. He also caught his lone target for 13 yards.
EDGE Analysis
Jones capped the opening drive with a three-yard touchdown run on what was already his seventh carry of the game. He doubled Green Bay's lead with a one-yard touchdown run in the first minute of the second quarter, then helped the Packers pull away with a nine-yard score in the third. The Packers led 27-0 in the second quarter and 48-16 in the fourth, so the game wasn't as close as the final score suggests. Jones exceeded 100 rushing yards for the fourth consecutive game, so he's peaking at the right time heading into a trip to San Francisco in the divisional round.

Jones (knee/finger) doesn't have an injury designation for Sunday's wild-card game in Dallas, Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Packers have managed Jones' practice reps since he returned to action Week 15 following three games off due to a sprained MCL. The regimen has worked out well for him over the last three contests, in particular, when he went for at least 110 yards on 20-plus carries each time. With AJ Dillon (thumb/neck) doubtful to suit up Sunday after sitting out every practice this week, Jones should have all the backfield work he can handle against the Cowboys.

Jones (knee/finger) practiced in a limited fashion Thursday.
EDGE Analysis
Jones continues to operate with a cap on his practice reps due to the sprained MCL that sidelined him Weeks 12-14. Since then, he's looked like his vintage self, totaling 475 yards from scrimmage and no TDs on 87 touches over the last four contests. The Packers have removed Jones' designation before each of the past three games, so that likely will come to pass once the team posts its final injury report of the week Friday ahead of Sunday's wild-card outing at Dallas.

Jones (knee/finger) was limited at Wednesday's walkthrough, Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Since returning from a three-game absence due to a sprained MCL back in Week 15, Jones has endured practice restrictions for five weeks running. It hasn't stopped him from accruing 100 yards on the ground for three straight games, a span in which he's racked up 70 touches for 406 yards from scrimmage. Fellow running back AJ Dillon (thumb/neck) again didn't mix into drills Wednesday, so Jones may remain the Packers' primary running back in Sunday's wild-card-game at Dallas if the former is unable to suit up. First, though, Jones will need to get through this week unscathed in order to do so.
