Jefferson will likely be assessed further before a decision is made on whether or not he'll have to take some time off of practice. He's currently on the outside looking in for a starting spot on the Seahawks' defense.

Seahawks signed CB A.J. Jefferson, formerly of the Vikings.
Jefferson is a plus-sized (6'0/193) athlete with an insane 44-inch vertical and 4.42 speed, but he has struggled whenever given the opportunity to play on defense. The Seahawks will try to coach him up in their press-man scheme.

Vikings DC Alan Williams said A.J. Jefferson has done "more than enough" to keep the starting cornerback job opposite Antoine Winfield.
Jefferson got the nod over Josh Robinson when Chris Cook went down with a broken right arm because the Vikings wanted to keep the rookie in the nickel package. "We like what A.J. is doing," Williams said. "It's a good fit for us. ... We like that rotation, we like the way we're bringing Josh along in terms of the defense."

Vikings acquired CB A.J. Jefferson from the Cardinals.
Jefferson opened 2011 as a starter for Arizona, but was benched in Week 9 after getting consistently burned. The former undrafted free agent is still just 24, however, and boasts impressive athleticism to go along with his 6-foot-1, 190-pound frame. He could see heavy snaps opposite Chris Cook in Minnesota.
