Barton will be unavailable for the first time this year for personal reasons. It's not yet clear whether he could return Tuesday against the Celtics, but Michael Porter and Facundo Campazzo could see significant run in his absence.

Barton recorded a new season-high point total against the Bucks on Monday. The guard came into the game really struggling to get shots to fall, having shot just 7-20 from the field and 2-9 from three over his last two games. The veteran continues to be a volume shooter that will contribute a handful of assists and rebounds each game with the occasional big scoring night like Monday.

Barton scored nine points (3-8 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 2-2 FT) and dished four assists in a loss to the Lakers on Thursday.

EDGE Analysis

Barton has failed to reach double-digit scoring in four of his last six games, shooting only 38 percent from the field during that stretch. He enjoyed a bit of a breakthrough campaign last season with per-game averages of 15.1 points, 6.3 rebounds and 3.7 assists, but he's fallen back to fringe fantasy status in 2020-21. On the season, he is shooting only 41.7 percent from the field and averaging 11.0 points, 3.9 boards and 3.1 dimes per game.

Over the past four games, Barton is averaging 8.5 points, 4.0 rebounds and 2.5 assists in 25.3 minutes.

EDGE Analysis

Barton's box-score stats as a whole look fine, but it's the inconsistency that's a problem for fantasy managers. He's shooting just 34.4 percent from the field during this stretch and has games of 17 points, one point, six points and, most recently, 10 points. On a night-to-night basis, it feels impossible to judge whether Barton will score 15 points or five points.

Barton provided 13 points (5-7 FG, 3-4 3Pt), six assists, three rebounds and a steal during Denver's 119-101 Tuesday night win over the Thunder.

EDGE Analysis

Bouncing back nicely from his two-point performance (1-of-6 FG) on Sunday versus Utah, Barton hit his first three shots from beyond the arc and was the only Nugget besides Jokic with double-digit scoring in the first half. Barton was a nonfactor in the second half, but that can likely be attributed to the lopsided nature of the game.

Barton had two points (1-6 FG, 0-3 3Pt), five rebounds, four assists and one block in 26 minutes during Sunday's loss to Utah.

EDGE Analysis

The 30-year-old tied his season low with two points, and it comes on the heels of a two game stretch in which he averaged 19.5 points. Barton is averaging 11.3 points, 4.3 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 1.1 steals in 28.9 minutes this season, but his game-to-game scoring output is largely inconsistent.

Barton provided 17 points (6-15 FG, 3-8 3Pt, 2-3 FT), four rebounds, three assists, a steal and a blocked shot across 32 minutes in Thursday's 114-104 win over the Warriors.

After a standout 22-point performance against the Nets two days ago, Barton turned in another solid performance against the Warriors. Although he muddled through a slow start, Barton's three-point stroke is heating up. Over the past two games, he's converted 56.2 percent of his shots from beyond the arc.

Barton scored 22 points (8-14 FG, 6-8 3Pt) to go with three steals, two rebounds, one assist and one block across 38 minutes in a 122-116 loss to Brooklyn on Tuesday.

EDGE Analysis

Barton set his season-high scoring mark thanks to his most three-point attempts in a game this year, recording his most made baskets from deep since January of last season. Barton would make three straight triples to keep the game close in the fourth quarter, but it wasn't enough as strong performances from Brooklyn would prevail.

Barton is shooting just 40.2 percent from the field through 10 games so far for Denver.

EDGE Analysis

Barton shot 45.0 percent from the floor last season, so this early-season decline is of note as he's also shooting a horrid 29.4 percent from three-point land so far on the year. The 30-year-old hasn't yet been able to take advantage of Michael Porter being away from the team due to health and safety protocols. Despite the struggles, Barton has been in the starting lineup for the last six games.

Barton scored 20 points (7-14 FG, 2-7 3Pt, 4-6 FT) while adding seven rebounds, three assists and two steals across 36 minutes in Tuesday's win over the Timberwolves.

EDGE Analysis

Barton found himself in the starting lineup once again due to Michael Porter's COVID-19 diagnosis, and he thrived. This was a big improvement after he'd scored 10 points combined over the last two games (both starts); in fact, this 20-point output represents his season high. He's averaging 11.3 points per game despite shooting a meager 38.5 percent from the field so far.
