Faverani (knee) was waived by the Celtics on Thursday, The Boston Globe reports.
Faverani was released in order to make room on the Celtics' roster for the three players they acquired in a trade that sent Rajon Rondo to the Mavericks. Assuming he clears waivers, he will become a free agent.

Faverani (knee) is still a month away from practice, Celtics head coach Brad Stevens said Monday, Gary Washburn of The Boston Globe reports.
Stevens had previously said that he hoped Faverani would practice in December, but it now seems like he'll be out for even longer with a meniscus injury that has required him to have two different surgeries.

Faverani (knee) is without a firm timetable for return, although coach Brad Stevens is expecting him to start practicing at some point in December, the Boston Herald reports.
Faverani has been sidelined for the entire 2014-15 season after undergoing his second knee surgery over a six-month span in early October. Initially Faverani was given a 6-8 week timetable for return, although that seems less definite as this point in his recovery. Either way, the 26-year-old would likely have a hard time getting on the court even if healthy, when considering the depth of frontcourt options in Boston.

Faverani (knee) will be out six to eight weeks after undergoing surgery Monday to clean inflammation and evaluate his left meniscus.
Faverani initially underwent left knee surgery in March, but after swelling persisted, he was sent back to Spain for a second opinion last weekend. That trip resulted in Faverani needing another procedure to clean his knee out and will now sideline the center for up to two months. With the Celtics currently featuring 16 players in training camp, there's speculation that Faverani could be released to trim Boston's roster to the regulated size. However, unless such a decision is made, Faverani will remain on the Celtics' injury report for the foreseeable future.

Faverani is headed back to Spain for a second opinion on his left knee, CSNNE.com reports.
With the swelling in Faverani's surgically-repaired knee persisting, the Celtics have decided to send him back to Spain to get a better idea of the full extent of the issue. Faverani rehabbed the knee in Spain throughout the offseason. Concern seems to be mounting, but the start of the regular season is still nearly three weeks away.

Faverani (knee) will miss Monday night's preseason game against the 76ers, ESPN Boston reports.
Faverani is coming off March knee surgery and is still experiencing some swelling, which has kept him out of some practice time recently. The big man will rest for Monday's preseason opener, but should have his status updated ahead of Wednesday's subsequent exhibition outing. Nonetheless, Faverani's participation will likely be limited in any action he partakes in this early in the season.

Faverani (knee) won't be able to participate in Friday's practice scrimmage.
Faverani was able to partially practice Thursday but he's still not healthy enough to see extended run. Even when healthy, the 26-year-old will have a hard time getting minutes this season with Kelly Olynyk, Tyler Zeller and Jared Sullinger ahead of him on the depth chart.

Faverani (knee) will practice for 40 minutes Thursday, as he continues to deal with knee soreness.
Faverani will be limited for the second straight day with swelling in his left knee stemming from surgery in March. The Celtics will bring the big man along slowly throughout the preseason with the hope that he'll be 100 percent for opening night Oct. 29 against Brooklyn.

Faverani (knee) sat out Wednesday's practice due to swelling in his left knee, Ben Rohrbach of WEEI.com reports.
Faverani's absence is not really surprising, since it was known the big man might be limited during training camp following March knee surgery. The Celtics will err on the side of caution with Faverani and allow him ample rest to ensure he's available for the regular season. At that time, the Brazilian is expected to compete with the likes of Kelly Olynyk, Tyler Zeller and Jared Sullinger for frontcourt minutes.

Faverani (knee) is set to practice during training camp, but could be limited during some of the sessions of two-a-days, NESN reports.
Faverani had surgery back in March to repair a torn lateral meniscus in his left knee. It has recovered enough for him to start training camp on time, which is great news considering he's only going into his second season in the league. The Celtics will monitor his time on the court, and have him take some practices off in order to keep him fresh, and avoid the risk of re-injuring the knee. He'll slot in as a reserve center, fighting for a position in a crowded frontcourt with the likes of Kelly Olynyk, Tyler Zeller and Jared Sullinger. The injury doesn't help his chances of establishing more of a presence as a contributor, but we'll see what he can do once he's fully healthy.
