Udonis Haslem (back) will not play against the Mavericks on Friday night. The team will take it easy on their 33-year-old forward and will have to find a way to replace his 16.0 minutes per game. Michael Beasley may have his best chance to produce, but has very little fantasy value.

Udonis Haslem (back) returned to practice on Thursday. Haslem has missed the Heat's last three contests due to his ailing back, but his appearance at practice is a good sign for Friday's game against Dallas. Shane Battier has been getting the start in Haslem's absence and would likely slide to a bench role if Haslem is able to suit up against the Mavericks. Regardless of who starts, however, neither player is much of a viable fantasy option at the moment.

Udonis Haslem (back spasms) will sit out again on Tuesday. This makes three straight DNPs for the veteran PF, and Shane Battier will get another start in his absence.

Udonis Haslem has been ruled out for Saturday's game vs. Boston due to back spasms. Back spasms aren't contagious, right? LeBron James is also fighting through the ailment, but fortunately he's ready to play. Haslem will join Greg Oden (knees) as the two inactive players for Miami.

Udonis Haslem will not play against the Nets on Thursday. He played 19 minutes on Tuesday and is likely just getting the night off. Haslem would need a ton of minutes to offset his minimal impact on a loaded Miami team in order to have value in the majority of fantasy leagues.

Udonis Haslem has been working on his 3-point shot in an attempt to become more versatile. This is a flashback to last summer, when Haslem "spent time on [3-point shooting]" and proceeded to go the entire year without so much as a 3-point attempt. If nothing else, improved shooting range should help him compete for minutes in a crowded frontcourt.

Udonis Haslem (knee) will not play on Monday. He joins Michael Beasley (shin), Chris Andersen (foot) and Greg Oden (knee) on the sidelines for Miami. He's still rebuilding his conditioning after knee surgery in July, but expects to be ready for the regular season.

The veteran PF averaged just 3.9 points and 5.4 rebounds in 19 minutes last season, but he knocked down 59.3 percent of his FGs in the playoffs to help Miami win a second straight NBA championship. At this point in his career, his real-world value far exceeds his fantasy value.

Udonis Haslem isn't worried about losing playing time to Greg Oden this season. Haslem had knee surgery this summer but expects to be ready for training camp, and he said his role is safe "as long as [he] can knock down that 17-footer." He averaged 19 minutes per game last year, before watching his minutes evaporate in the Finals, and fantasy owners should skip the veteran PF on draft day.
