Tyronn Lue became the highest-paid assistant coach in NBA history with his four-year, $6.5 million deal with the Cavs. Several NBA coaches make close to $2 million annually, so the Cavs offered up some serious money to pry him from Doc Rivers. The Warriors also gave former Clippers assistant coach Alvin Gentry about $800K per season, and the Clippers may be losing out on assistants while the Donald Sterling drama unfolds.

Tyronn Lue has agreed to come on board for the Cavs as the teams associate head coach, according to sources of Yahoo! Sports. That's three assistant coaches of Doc Rivers gone (Alvin Gentry to GSW, Kevin Eastman promoted to Clippers' front office) as Lue heads to Cleveland. He will join David Blatt on the bench as Cleveland attempts to right the ship after four years of turmoil following "The Decision." Rivers reportedly gave Lue his blessing to accept the job.

The Cavs would like to add Ty Lue to be an assistant to David Blatt's staff, but Lue is unlikely to leave Doc Rivers' staff. Lue was basically the runner up for the Cavs' head coaching. The Clippers are going to need Lue even more with Alvin Gentry moving up the coast to Oakland.

Tyronn Lue will get a second interview for the Cavs' head-coaching job. He is a very strong candidate for the job and is facing stiff competition from Alvin Gentry. Lue will meet with owner Dan Gilbert and the team would likely make a decision in the coming days. Obviously, the first pick in the draft should light a fire under them to make a hire soon.

Clippers assistant coach Tyronn Lue left a strong impression on Cavs team officials in his interview, according to Yahoo! Sports. He reportedly interviewed on Thursday and looks to be the favorite to win the job. Lue's competition includes Alvin Gentry, Vinny Del Negro and Lionel Hollin, all of whom have head-coaching experience. The Cavs will likely have their coach picked out in a couple weeks to have time to prepare for the NBA Draft.

Tyronn Lue will interview with the Cavaliers Thursday as the team expands their head coaching search. Lue is currently an assistant coach with the Clippers and will join a growing list of candidates that include Vinny Del Negro, and Lionel Hollins. Alvin Gentry will reportedly interview with the Cavs on Friday and University of Florida head coach Billy Donovan has also show interest, so while Lue could end up with the position, he is by no means the leader in the clubhouse at the moment.

Clippers assistant coach Tyronn Lue will interview for the Cavs head coaching job next week. The Cavs are looking at a number of candidates, including Vinny Del Negro, Adrian Griffin and Alvin Gentry. A lot of teams are turning to ex-players and turning them into first-time head coaches, so Lue would certainly fit into that en vogue mentality. He played point guard for 11 seasons in the NBA and won two NBA championships

Tyronn Lue will join Doc Rivers' coaching staff with the Clippers. Lue has been on Rivers' staff in Boston since before the 2009 season and many around the league believe he'll be an eventual head coach candidate. The Raptors even asked for permission to interview Lue for a position on Dwane Casey's staff in mid-May, but it makes more sense for Lue to stay attached to Rivers for the time being. Rivers is expected to take most of his staff with him to L.A.

The Raptors have asked for permission to speak with Celtics assistant coach Tyronn Lue for a position on Dwane Casey's staff. Lue joined Doc Rivers' staff in Boston prior to the 2009 season. While Casey and Raptors GM Bryan Colangelo appear likely to return for the 2013-14 season, Toronto management has yet to sign off on the option in Colangelo's contract. We imagine part of that is waiting to see whether Phil Jackson is willing to take over basketball operations, which could cause a major shakeup in the front office and the coaching staff.
