While the Spurs wait to see whether Tim Duncan (knee) can play Saturday, coach Gregg Popovich (illness) might miss another game, according to assistant coach Mike Budenholzer. Both Duncan and Popovich have missed the last two games, which is kinda funny if you think about it. Budenholzer said Pop stayed away in part to keep the Spurs from getting sick and it wouldn't surprise us if he took one more game to make sure he was past whatever illness he's dealing with. Duncan owners will want to check back after shootaround later today for an official update on the big man's knee.

Tim Duncan (knee) and Gregg Popovich (sick) did not travel with the Spurs to Dallas for Friday's game against the Mavs. Duncan was expected to miss another game, so it's not surprising the team left him behind. As for Pop, it seems like the entire league has missed at least one game with some sort of flu bug or other illness, so it's only logical the epidemic reached the coaches, too. The Spurs return home to host the Suns on Saturday, so we'll just have to re-assess both Duncan and Pop's status after tomorrow's shootaround.

Tim Duncan (knee) could miss "maybe one more game" with his injury. "It's sore but I don't think it's serious," he said. "Maybe one more game, but we'll see." The Spurs play on Friday against the Mavs, and Tony Parker said that the team would be "without Timmy" for that game, but that's not official. Still, it would seem to hint that Duncan is questionable at best for Friday's game.

Gregg Popovich will not coach for Wednesday's game due to an illness. It's all too fitting that Tim Duncan is resting his knee and Coach Pop is going to sit this one out. We doubt David Stern will hit him with a substantial sanction for being sick against the Hornets.

Tim Duncan will not play on Wednesday due to a sore left knee, and the Spurs are listing him as day-to-day. Duncan's knee didn't look compromised when he hung 24 points, 17 boards, five assists, two steals and a block on the Sixers on Monday, and it's notable that the Spurs have an upcoming back-to-back on Friday and Saturday. Regardless, Duncan will not play on Wednesday so owners need to get him out of the lineup. Boris Diaw will likely start in Duncan's place.

Tim Duncan returned from his rest and had 24 points, 17 boards, five assists, two steals and one block in 34 minutes against the Sixers on Monday. He made all four of his free throws and shot 10-of-17 from the field. Duncan had just one block in the win on Monday, which is well below his January average of 3.8. While Gregg Popovich is going to rest Duncan here and there, The Big Fundamental continues to produce monster numbers to make those DNPs a lot easier to swallow.

Tim Duncan (rest) will be back in the lineup Monday against the Sixers. Gregg Popovich sat Duncan in the second half of a back-to-back Saturday as Pop attempts to keep his 36-year-old forward fresh. "I'll be ready to go if he allows me to play," Duncan said of Monday's game. "So I'll show up and see what he says." Duncan also said he doesn't even try to disagree with his coach. "I never fight him," he said. "You lose every time."

Tim Duncan will not play against the Hawks on Saturday. The Spurs are playing the second game of a back-to-back set, so Gregg Popovich is going to try and keep his 36-year-old forward fresh. Boris Diaw will start and could be productive while Tiago Splitter should turn in a useful line for even shallow leagues tonight.

Tim Duncan scored 24 points on 9-of-16 shooting (6-of-6 FTs) with 10 rebounds and three blocks in the Spurs' 95-88 win over the Warriors on Friday. Duncan and Tony Parker (25 points, eight assists) were the class of the court, and while they both outplayed David Lee it wouldn't be surprising if both Lee and/or Stephen Curry got the nod over the veterans in San Antonio. Curry has a pretty good case and wasn't on the floor tonight, but Lee was thoroughly outplayed by Duncan, who can play both sides of the court. Danny Green scored 13 points with three triples in the win.

Tim Duncan blocked five shots against the Grizzlies on Wednesday with 19 points, eight boards and four assists in 31 minutes. He did a fantastic job protecting the paint tonight and all five of his blocks came at the rim and against five different Grizzlies. Duncan has played like he's in his prime this year and the future Hall of Famer should be in all lineups.
