Splitter (calf) was assigned to the D-League on Tuesday for rehab purposes.
EDGE Analysis
Splitter has not played in an NBA game in more than a calendar year as he continues to battle what's been a very problematic right calf injury. The big man is expected to begin participating in full practices with the Delaware Sevens this week, and he could soon progress to participating in D-League game action. The 76ers haven't stated when they expect Splitter to be 100 percent healthy, but it looks as though the team is hoping he'll be able to return to NBA action before the end of the regular season. The 32-year-old, who came over at the deadline in the Ersan Ilyasova deal, will be an unrestricted free agent this summer.

Splitter (calf) said Thursday that he's "pretty close" to being ready to play in games, Tom Moore of the Bucks County Courier Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
Splitter, who was acquired in the Feb. 22 trade of Ersan Ilyasova to the Hawks, has been sidelined for the entire season while recovering from a strained right calf, but it appears he's just about past the injury. He was able to put in some two-on-two workouts during Thursday's practice and suggested that he just needed "a little bit more five-on-five" work before getting the green light to play. Once the 76ers activate him, Splitter is expected to serve as the club's third-string center behind Jahlil Okafor and Richaun Holmes, meaning he'll likely be outside of the rotation in most games.

Coach Brett Brown said that Splitter (calf) could report to the D-League's Delaware 87ers as part of his rehabilitation, Keith Pompey of the Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
EDGE Analysis
Acquired from the Hawks on Feb. 22 as part of the trade that sent Ersan Ilyasova to Atlanta, Splitter has yet to debut for the 76ers -- or this season, for that matter -- while he recovers from a right calf strain. Brown noted that Splitter is almost fully recovered from the injury, but because of the long layoff, the team may want him to head to Delaware in order to pick up as much practice time as possible. Splitter could be ready to play with the big club by the end of the month, but even once he's made available, it's unlikely that he'll be a regular part of the team's rotation.

Coach Brett Brown said Monday that Splitter (calf, hip) could be ready to play by the end of March, Tom Moore of the Bucks County Courier Times reports.
EDGE Analysis
Splitter has been sidelined all season to the right leg injury and won't be asked to play many meaningful minutes for the 76ers even if Brown's projection for his return proves correct. Instead, the 32-year-old Splitter is expected to offer most of his value to the team in the locker room as one of the few veterans on a young squad.

According to president Bryan Colangelo, Splitter (calf, hip) will continue to rehab with the team and is hopeful in a return before the end of the season, Jake Fisher of Sports Illustrated reports.
EDGE Analysis
The center has been battling several injuries throughout the season and has yet to take the court as a a result. However, the 76ers are confident that Splitter could return before the end of year and isn't expected to be waived or bought out. Look for more updates on his status to come as the rehab process continues. There are rumblings that fellow big man Andrew Bogut, who was acquired Thursday, will be bought out by the team, leaving Joel Embiid (knee), Jahlil Okafor and Richaun Holmes as the only active centers on the roster.

Splitter (calf, hip) and two second-round picks were traded to the 76ers on Wednesday in exchange for Ersan Ilyasova, Adrian Wojnarowski of The Vertical reports.
EDGE Analysis
Splitter has been battling hip and calf injuries all season long, and while Hawks coach Mike Budenholzer said the big man is continuing to make progress, his return to the floor is still not coming anytime soon. With that said, Splitter contracts expires after this season and he will then be a free agent, so he likely wouldn't be worked into the 76ers' rotation this season even if he did return from injury. Rather, with Ilyasova's departure, Dario Saric is in line to see a major minutes increase at the power forward position through the final stretch of the regular season.

Coach Mike Budenholzer indicated that while Splitter (calf, hip) is making progress, a return to the court isn't imminent, Chris Vivlamore of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports. "He is continuing to make progress," Budenholzer said of Splitter. "He is doing more in practice situations. I think the thing is he has to do that for a sustained period of time."
EDGE Analysis
Splitter has been out all season with the hip and calf injuries, but the Hawks haven't given up hope for the big man to return at some point over the team's final 26 contests. Even if Splitter is able to increase his activities and log multiple practices in a row within the next few weeks, he'll likely only serve in a minor capacity off the bench behind starting center Dwight Howard once he returns.

Splitter (hip, calf) has been doing increased work in his rehabilitation lately and could return to action at some point after the All-Star break, Chris Vivlamore of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
EDGE Analysis
It doesn't appear that Splitter is on the cusp of returning to full practices, but this update nonetheless qualifies as good news for the center, who has been sidelined all season with the injuries. Splitter will give the Hawks some added depth at center once he returns to game action, but after averaging only 16.1 minutes per game when he was healthy last season, he's not a player who needs to be stashed in most formats.

Splitter (calf) has been ruled out for Monday's game against the Trail Blazers, KL Chouinard of Hawks.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Splitter remains without a timetable for a return to the floor and is yet to make his season debut for the Hawks. It appears safe to assume that the team will hold Splitter out until at least, but likely beyond, the All-Star break and continue to operate with Mike Muscala as their primary backup center behind Dwight Howard.
