The 7-foot-5 center will fill one of the Celtics' two two-way spots for the second season in a row. As a rookie in 2019-20, Fall made only seven appearances with the Celtics, instead spending the bulk of his time in the G League with the Maine Red Claws.

Fall produced four points (2-2 FG), four rebounds, one assist, two blocks and one steal over eight minutes in Thursday's 96-90 loss to Washington.

Thursday marked Fall's lone appearance during the Orlando play-in games. For the final game of the regular season, coach Brad Stevens decided to give six regulars the day off and let his reserves see extra floor time. Fall's four rebounds were a career high. For the regular season, Fall appeared in seven games for Boston and 29 games for the G League Maine Red Claws. Fall, who is on a two-way contract, will probably see limited minutes at best during Boston's playoff run. During those 29 games with Maine, Fall averaged 12.9 points, 11.1 rebounds and 2.9 blocks per contest while shooting 70.7 percent from the field.

Fall eked out six points (3-6 FG), six rebounds and one block over nine minutes in Tuesday's scrimmage loss to the Rockets.

EDGE Analysis

Coach Brad Stevens decided to rest all his key players, which allowed Fall and the reserves to receive a nice boost in playing time. That said, Fall played the fewest minutes of the 10 Celtics who saw action. Fellow reserve center Vincent Poirier is expected to be absent for some of September due to paternity leave, which may provide an opportunity for Fall to play some minutes in Orlando. Otherwise, expect the rookie to watch the action from the bench.

Fall was named to the NBA G League All-Defensive Team, which is awarded to the top five defensive players in the league.

Fall averaged 2.9 blocks per game, good for third in the G League behind Christ Koumadje (4.0) and Kenny Wooten (3.6). Fall's imposing 7-foot-5 frame altered an abundance of shots throughout the 2019-20 season. The big center also averaged 12.9 points and 11.1 rebounds (7.6 defensive rebounds) while shooting 70.7 percent from the field over 23.3 minutes per game. It will be interesting to see if Fall garners playing time with the Celtics when the season resumes in late July.

Fall generated 16 points (7-7 FG, 2-5 FT), 14 rebounds, one assist and nine blocked shots over 25 minutes in Sunday's 120-112 home loss to Windy City.

EDGE Analysis

Tacko was one swat short of a triple-double in this disappointing loss to Windy City. Fall started the game, but five personal fouls limited his playing time. Maine also has center Vincent Poirier on loan from the Celtics eating into Fall's playing time, yet Fall still posted a great stat line. The Claws will look to turn things around Wednesday at Delaware.

Fall has appeared in both of the Maine Red Claws' last two games, putting up a combined 32 points (14-20 FG, 2-6 FT), 29 rebounds, 10 blocks and two assists between the two contests.

EDGE Analysis

Fall played 30 and 28 minutes, respectively, in wins over the Capital City Go-Go and Erie Bayhawks, indicating that the injury that forced him out early in a Feb. 23 victory over the Westchester Knicks is no longer a concern. Though the Celtics are shorthanded due to injuries heading into Wednesday's game in Cleveland, Fall apparently won't be an option off the bench. The NBA's official injury report lists Fall as still being on assignment in the G League.

Fall left Sunday's game versus Westchester early due to an undisclosed injury. The big man exited with 9:41 remaining in the first quarter.

EDGE Analysis

Fall was called for his second offensive foul early in the game. During the resulting stoppage in play, Fall was subbed out and didn't return. There was no obvious visual clue as to what sort of injury Fall might have sustained, but he's dealt with shoulder and concussion issues already this season.

Fall supplied 16 points (8-13 FG, 0-1 FT), 15 rebounds and three blocked shots in Saturday's 116-109 road lost to the Raptors 905.

EDGE Analysis

Fall and Yante Maten were the only effective shooters for a Red Claw team that the 905 held to 40 percent shooting from the field and just 19 percent from behind the arc. The loss snapped a three game winning streak for Crustacean Nation. Maine now quickly travels to Westchester for an afternoon game versus the Knicks.

Fall delivered 14 points (7-14 FG, 0-1 FT), 18 boards, an assist, five blocked shots and a block over 30 minutes in Thursday's 119-100 home win over the Skyhawks.

EDGE Analysis

Fall was hosting a "blocko" party in Portland, Maine. The nimble 7-foot-5 center owned the key on both ends and helped the Red Claws deliver a dominant second-half effort. Over his past five games, Fall has averaged 14.2 rebounds per contest. Fall is now entrenched in Maine's starting lineup. Expect more gaudy stats to follow.
