Novak has been released by the Bucks following Thursday's trade with the Hornets, Adrian Wojnarowski of The Vertical reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Bucks acquired Roy Hibbert and Spencer Hawes from the Hornets in exchange for Miles Plumlee on Thursday, and they'll release Novak in order to free up a roster spot to accommodate the new additions. Novak, a Milwaukee-area native, has not been a regular contributor this season, appearing in only eight games and logging just 22 total minutes. The 33-year-old will likely consider retirement, but it's possible he could look to find another NBA home, though he hasn't been a rotational player in nearly three years. Since leaving the Knicks in 2013, Novak has spent stints with the Raptors, Thunder (twice). Jazz and Bucks (twice).

Novak tallied one rebound in three minutes during Wednesday's 119-94 win over the Pistons.
EDGE Analysis
Despite missing a game earlier in the week with an illness, Novak was healthy enough to suit up and appeared in only his sixth game of the season. The 33-year-old has struggled in his limited time, attempting one three-pointer in all but one game. Novak has yet to score this season and, barring an injury, should continue to be on the outside of the Bucks' rotation.

Novak is dealing with an illness and is listed as out for Monday's game against the Wizards.
EDGE Analysis
Novak has picked up garbage-time minutes in three of the past four games, but his absence Monday won't affect coach Jason Kidd's rotation plans. The veteran sharpshooter has seen no more than four minutes in any of his five appearances on the season.

Novak (coach's decision) didn't get off the bench during Sunday's 104-96 win over the Magic.
EDGE Analysis
Novak dressed for Sunday's contest with Khris Middleton (hamstring) and Rashad Vaughn occupying the Bucks' two inactive spots, but he never received any serious consideration to take the floor in what was a competitive affair. The veteran sharpshooter has made only one appearance on the season, a four-minute stint against the Kings back on Nov. 5.

Novak missed his only three-point attempt during his eight minutes of action in Monday's preseason loss to the Pistons.
EDGE Analysis
Novak saw a preseason high in minutes, but failed to truly capitalize. Other than shooting 2-for-3 from beyond the arc this preseason, he has yet to acquire any other stats. The 33-year-old remains nothing more than a deep bench option to provide three-point shooting.

Novak (knee) said Tuesday that he's feeling pain-free and will face no restrictions when training camp opens in late September, Charles F. Gardner of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
EDGE Analysis
After being traded from the Thunder to Nuggets and subsequently released last February, Novak quickly agreed to a contract with the Bucks, his hometown team. He would go on to appear in just three games with the team before suffering a season-ending sprained left MCL. As an unrestricted free agent this offseason, Novak never seriously considered joining any other teams, so it came as no surprise when he officially re-signed with the Bucks on Monday. With his health back intact, Novak will be able to provide the Bucks with some sharpshooting off the bench, but due to his limitations on the defensive end, it's unlikely that the 32-year-old be a regular rotation option for coach Jason Kidd.

Novak officially re-signed with the Bucks on Monday, NBA.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Terms of the contract have yet to be released, but Novak offers the Bucks another veteran shooter that can provide both leadership and offensive production when called up. Novak suffered a sprained left MCL after appearing in just three games with the Bucks last season, but is expected to be fully healthy and ready to go prior to training camp. The 6-foot-10 forward likely won't see extended minutes as a regular rotational piece during the upcoming season, which severely restricts his fantasy potential.

Novak (knee) is expected to re-sign with the Bucks later in the offseason, Charles F. Gardner of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Bucks currently have 13 contracts on the books for the upcoming season and appear to be looking at reserving their final two roster spots for veteran shooters who can supplement the team's young core. Jason Terry, 38, has agreed principle to a deal with the Bucks that's expected to be finalized Monday, and the team is likely to use its remaining cap space to re-sign the 33-year-old Novak, a Milwaukee native who appeared in three games for his hometown squad in the second half of last season before being sidelined the rest of the way with an left MCL sprain. Fortunately, Novak didn't require surgery to address the injury, and after taking the last several months off to recover, he'll be ready to go for the start of training camp in the fall. Due to his limitations on the defensive end, Novak doesn't figure to be a regular cog in the rotation for coach Jason Kidd, but as a 43.1 percent career three-point shooter, he's capable of providing the Bucks with a threat from the outside on the occasions he does see the floor.

Novak (knee) indicated Tuesday that he won't require surgery to address his sprained left MCL, Charles F. Gardner of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
EDGE Analysis
Novak, who has been ruled out for the season, will go with the rest and rehab route in order to recovery from the knee injury. He's expected to resume working out in the summer, so concerns over the ailment shouldn't be much of a factor in free agency for the veteran sharpshooter. Assuming Novak wants to continue his career, look for him to find a spot in training camp with an NBA team, though he may have to settle for a non-guaranteed contract.

Novak will miss the remainder of the season with a sprained left MCL, Gary Washburn of The Boston Globe reports.
EDGE Analysis
Novak was signed by the Bucks just six days ago and is now out for the season. It is a rough situation for the Bucks, as they really needed to add some three point shooting to their roster, something that Novak specializes in. Novak never figured to be much of a fantasy asset in standard or DFS leagues, but it is still a rough break for the veteran. It remains to be seen what will happen with Novak in the offseason.
