Zimmerman was waived by the Spurs on Thursday, Keith Smith of Spotrac.com reports.

Zimmerman signed a training camp deal with the team earlier Thursday but was quickly waived. The 2016 second-rounder has spent time in the G League with a handful of teams before heading overseas, most recently to Australia with the NBL.

Zimmerman signed a training camp contract with the Spurs on Thursday, Paul Garcia of ProjectSpurs.com reports.

Zimmerman played professionally in Australia last year but was able to land a contract with the Spurs with just under a week remaining until the regular season. It seems likely that Zimmerman will begin the year in the G League.

Zimmerman posted 12 points (5-14 FG, 2-4 FT), 20 rebounds, four assists and a block in the 122-107 loss Monday to the Blue Coats.

EDGE Analysis

Zimmerman set a season-high in the rebounding category, becoming the first Westchester player to post 20 or more rebounds in the 2018-19 season. Isaiah Hicks (groin) continual absence has opened the door for Zimmerman to become a legitimate fantasy dynamo at the center spot.

Zimmerman slotted into the starting lineup Thursday, finishing the 122-116 loss to the Swarm with nine points (4-6 FG, 1-2 FT), 12 rebounds, one assist and one steal.

EDGE Analysis

Zimmerman's return to the starting rotation bumped the increasingly productive Jameel Warney to power forward, but Warney continued to pile up numbers finishing the game with 29 points and nine rebounds. Zimmerman certainly has some utility as a fantasy option given his defense and rebounding prowess, but he'll have to play more than his Thursday minute total (25) in order to be a consistent factor worth relying on.

Zimmerman did not play in play in Friday's contest with a left knee injury.

EDGE Analysis

Zimmerman hasn't seen a lot of time with Westchester, averaging 19.6 minutes per game. The 6-11 center has been averaging six rebounds during that stretch, but just 7.8 points per game certainly isn't an intimidating figure.

Zimmerman did not participate in Sunday's 125-101 win over Santa Cruz due to a right knee injury.

EDGE Analysis

Zimmerman has been sidelined since putting up four points back on Jan. 19 as a result of his injury. Currently, it's unclear how much longer the 21-year-old center will be kept out of action as South Bay's next game is Wednesday. The 6-11 UNLV product is averaging 6.5 points and 4.8 rebounds per contest during his second year in the G-League.

Zimmerman was waived by the Lakers on Monday.

EDGE Analysis

Zimmerman was only on a training camp deal and was never expected to make the final regular-season roster. He played a total of just three minutes during the preseason, notching two points, one rebound and one assist. He'll look to latch on elsewhere prior to the opener, though more realistically, Zimmerman will have to settle for deal in the G-League or overseas.

Zimmerman, who played in only 19 games for the Magic during the 2016-17 season, was waived by the team in early July after they were seemingly disappointed by his Orlando Summer League performances. He saw just 108 total minutes last year, recording 23 points, 35 rebounds, five blocks, four assists and two steals while shooting an abysmal 32.3 percent from the field. The 7-footer is seemingly a longshot to make the Lakers' final roster considering the team's impressive center depth of Brook Lopez and Ivica Zubac, but it's possible he'll end up with the Lakers' G-League affiliate when things are said and done.

Zimmerman was waived by the Magic on Tuesday, Josh Robbins of the Orlando Sentinel reports.

EDGE Analysis

Zimmerman played in just 19 games for the Magic during the 2016-17 campaign, averaging 1.2 points and 1.8 rebounds across 5.7 minutes. After taking part in the Orlando Summer League over the last week, the Magic didn't like the progress they saw with the seven-foot big man, so he'll head to the open free agent market with Tuesday's release. He'll likely latch on elsewhere prior to training camp, but he's not a lock to make a final roster.

Zimmerman (coach's decision) didn't see the floor in a 113-105 loss to the Knicks on Monday.

EDGE Analysis

It was thought that Zimmerman might pick up some expanded run while Nikola Vucevic (Achilles) has missed the last two contests, but after playing only five minutes Sunday against the Wizards, the rookie dropped out of the rotation entirely for the second half of the back-to-back set. Zimmerman can be ignored in most deeper formats until he starts seeing meaningful playing time.
