McClellan will be recalled from the D-League's Delaware 87ers on Friday, Candace Buckner of The Washington Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
McClellan has been in Delaware for more than a week in order to pick up some extra playing time, which he hadn't been receiving of late in the D-League. He's averaging 11.0 points (on 61.3% shooting from the field), 3.8 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 1.2 steals in 24.4 minutes per game over five appearances in the D-League. With Ian Mahinmi (knee) still out and Danuel House (wrist) set to occupy the two inactive spots during Friday's game against the Pistons, McClellan should dress for the contest, but he's unlikely to play if the contest remains competitive.

McClellan was assigned Tuesday to the D-League's Delaware 87ers, Candace Buckner of the Washington Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
In mid-November, McClellan logged back-to-back games of 20 minutes or more when Bradley Beal was sidelined with a hamstring injury, but since then, he's played a total of one minute over the following nine games. He'll head to the D-League for additional in-game opportunities and is expected to remain there for at least a few games, so he likely won't be back with the Wizards in the near future.

McClellan was a DNP-coach's decision in Bradley Beal's (hamstring) first game back in the lineup.
EDGE Analysis
McClellan started the last two games while Beal was out due to a hamstring injury. As a starter, McClellan averaged 27.5 minutes, 10.5 points, 2.0 rebounds, 1.0 assists, and 1.0 steals. With Beal back, however, McClellan received his fifth DNP of the season. McClellan has almost no value as long as Beal is healthy.

McClellan will return to the bench for Thursday's game against the Knicks, Candace Buckner of the Washington Post reports.
EDGE Analysis
McClellan has started the last two games in place of Bradley Beal, who has been sitting out with a hamstring injury. Beal remains a game-time decision for Thursday, but coach Scott Brooks said Tomas Satoransky would start for Beal if he remained out, which means McCLellan will return to his normal bench role. His demotion will likely cause his minutes to take a decent hit after logging 20 and 35 minutes over the last two contests respectively.

McClellan will start for the second straight game in the absence of Bradley Beal (hamstring), CSN Mid-Atlantic reports.
EDGE Analysis
The Wizards will again go with McClellan at shooting guard, as veteran Marcus Thornton comes off the bench. In his first start Saturday in Chicago, McClellan played a career-high 35 minutes and finished with 15 points (5-9 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 4-5 FT) to go with two rebounds and an assist in the Wizards' 106-95 loss.

McClellan earned a spot with the Wizards to begin the season after the team reduced their roster to 15 men Friday, Shams Charania of Yahoo! Sports reports.
EDGE Analysis
McClellan was excluded from the rotation in Friday's 119-82 preseason win over the Raptors, but he performed well enough in his other five appearances during the exhibition slate to defy the odds and make the Wizards' roster as an undrafted rookie. He'll be buried on the depth chart, however, and figures to spend extensive time in the D-League in 2016-17.

McClellan posted 20 points (6-10 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 8-11 FT), four assists, three rebounds and one steal across 32 minutes in Thursday's 125-119 double overtime win over the 76ers.
EDGE Analysis
Wizards coach Scott Brooks has given McClellan high praise in the early days of training camp, and the undrafted rookie seemed to back up those claims with an excellent outing Thursday night, finishing second to only Kelly Oubre in scoring. McClellan's contract isn't fully guaranteed for the 2016-17 season, but with the Wizards in need of additional backcourt depth, the 23-year-old may have an early edge over Jarell Eddie and Danuel House for one of the team's final roster spots.

McClellan completed his first Las Vegas Summer League campaign with 2.6 points, 1.4 rebounds and 0.6 assists per game over the course of five contests.
EDGE Analysis
Just one year ago McClellan was the face of a top-10 ranked Miami squad. However, as he quickly learned, life at the professional level is not as cut out as it may seem. McClellan shot just 26.7 percent from the field and was 0-5 from beyond-the-arc. Additionally, the 84-percent-charity-stripe shooter in college knocked down just 71 percent of his free-throws. If McClellan does find a way to beat and the odds and make Washington's roster, he will likely do so as a deep reserve.

McClellan signed a partially guaranteed contract with the Wizards on Thursday, Jonathan Givony of Draft Express reports.
EDGE Analysis
Teams were reportedly offering to select McClellan in the second round of Thursday's draft as a stash option, but the Miami product elected to take his fate in his own hands and become an undrafted free agent. After reaching an agreement with the Wizards, he'll likely be invited to participate in both summer league and training camp with the team, but he'll still be on the outside looking in for a roster spot once the season begins. The 6-foot-6 shooting guard averaged 16.3 points and shot 40.6 percent from three-point range as a college senior.
