Mamukelashvili agreed to a two-year, $5.5 million contract with the Raptors on Tuesday, Shams Charania of ESPN reports.

The 25-year-old big man was thrust into a more significant role this season following the season-ending blood clot issue for Victor Wembanyama. He averaged 6.3 points and 3.1 rebounds across 11.2 minutes per game, shooting a career-high 50.2 percent from the field for San Antonio.

Mamukelashvili chipped in 19 points (8-15 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 2-2 FT), nine rebounds, two assists and one steal in 25 minutes during Friday's 117-98 loss to the Suns.

Mamukelashvili appeared in 60 games with the Spurs this season, and although he averaged only 11 minutes per game, the Seton Hall product has distinguished himself as a worthy backup during Victor Wembanyama's (shoulder) absence. Although Bismack Biyombo has been the mainstay with the first unit, he hasn't been very consistent. If Mamukelashvili stays with the team, he could begin the year as Wembanyama's primary backup.

The 2021 second-rounder has been a hit-or-miss fantasy option lately, as he's played minutes in the 20s just twice over his last 12 outings. During this span, Mamukelashvili has averaged 11.0 points, 4.9 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 2.0 three-pointers in 16.5 minutes while shooting 45.3 percent from beyond the arc.

Mamukelashvili logged 14 points (6-10 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 1-2 FT), 11 rebounds, four assists and one block across 25 minutes during Sunday's 148-106 loss to the Warriors.

The Spurs looked overmatched against the Warriors from start to finish, but Mamukelashvili was one of the few second-unit members who managed to get something going as San Antonio lost by 42 points Sunday. This was Mamukelashvili's first double-double of the season, and he's been making the most of his minutes available in recent weeks. He's averaging 8.5 points, 3.8 rebounds and 1.3 assists per game across 16 March appearances despite logging just 12.3 minutes per game.

Mamukelashvili posted 11 points (4-7 FG, 3-4 3Pt, 0-2 FT), two rebounds and one assist across 17 minutes during Tuesday's 122-96 loss to the Pistons.

Mamukelashvili led the second unit in scoring Tuesday, marking his sixth outing with double-digit points over his last seven. The 25-year-old center also hit multiple triples for the 13th time on the season during an extremely efficient performance from beyond the arc. Mamukelashvili will likely continue to split minutes with Jeremy Sochan and Bismack Biyombo at center due to Victor Wembanyama (blood clot) being sidelined. Mamukelashvili has logged at least 12 minutes in each of his last seven appearances, and before the All-Star break, he had averaged only 8.1 minutes per contest across 33 games.

Mamukelashvili notched 34 points (13-14 FG, 7-7 3Pt, 1-1 FT), nine rebounds, three assists and one steal across 19 minutes during Wednesday's 120-105 win over the Knicks.

EDGE Analysis

Not only were the 34 points easily a career high for Mamukelashvili, but the fourth-year big man also established an NBA record for the best scoring total in a single game while playing fewer than 20 minutes. Mamukelashvili didn't play in either the first or third quarter, but he finished the game with a flurry, pouring in 21 of his points in the final 12 minutes while going 8-for-8 from the field and 4-for-4 from three-point range. Considering that Mamukelashvili is shooting 53.9 percent from the field overall on the season, his explosive 13-for-14 performance Wednesday should be viewed as a major outlier, but the 25-year-old could nonetheless earn himself an expanded role moving forward if the Spurs elect to scale back Bismack Biyombo's playing time. Mamukelashvil's minutes will warrant monitoring over the next few games to see if he can become a more stable member of the rotation, after he had been averaging just 9.2 minutes through the Spurs' first nine contests of March.

Mamukelashvili closed with zero points (0-2 FG, 0-2 3Pt) and one rebound in five minutes during Wednesday's 126-116 win over the Mavericks.

EDGE Analysis

Mamukelashvili once again saw limited minutes off the bench despite the fact the Spurs are shorthanded when it comes to center options. In his past 12 games, Mamukelashvili is averaging a modest 4.3 points and 2.1 rebounds in just 9.2 minutes per game. While there is a chance he steps into a larger role at some point before the end of the season, we have clearly not arrived at that point yet.

Mamukelashvili was ejected after being assessed for a Flagrant 2 after shoving Thomas Bryant from behind in Saturday's game versus the Pacers with 1:35 remaining in the fourth quarter.

EDGE Analysis

Mamukelashvili tallied three points (1-3 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 1-2 FT), three rebounds, two assists and two steals in 12 minutes during Saturday's contest. Since the 25-year-old committed his foul so late in the game, he hardly missed any action.
