Merrill was chosen as the first overall pick in the 2022 G League Draft by the Charge.
EDGE Analysis
The former Utah State product spent time with the Kings in the preseason before being waived, and the fact that he was chosen with the first overall pick in this year's draft suggests the Charge see plenty of potential in him, particularly as a scorer. He has spent time in the NBA in each of the last two seasons, playing for the Bucks in 2020-21 and the Grizzlies in 2021-22.

Merrill was waived by the Kings on Saturday, Keith Smith of Spotrac.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Merrill saw 26 preseason minutes, totaling 12 points, four rebounds and one assist. The sharpshooter may have to spend time in the G League to prove himself before he's ready for a consistent NBA role.

Merrill (ankle) and the Kings agreed to a contract Friday, Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports reports.
EDGE Analysis
Merrill was waived by the Grizzlies in January after suffering an ankle injury that required surgery and would keep him out 3-4 months. Now presumably healthy, Merrill is expected to fight for a spot during training camp with the Kings. Since being drafted with the final pick in the 2020 NBA Draft, he's appeared in 36 games and has gone 28-for-70 (40.0) percent from three in his 291 minutes.

Merrill (ankle) will undergo surgery to address the ankle injury he's been dealing with, which will keep him out 3-4 months. As a result, he's been waived by the Grizzlies, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports.
EDGE Analysis
Merrill hasn't played since mid-November and had a relatively small role with the team. There's a chance he could play again in April, but that might be optimistic, and he may have to settle for a back-end roster spot or G League contract.

Merrill (ankle) is listed as out for Wednesday's game against the Trail Blazers.
EDGE Analysis
Merrill has been sidelined for just under a month with a significant left ankle sprain, an injury he suffered in the closing seconds of a 120-108 win over the Clippers on Nov. 18. The Grizzlies haven't offered up a clear timeline for Merrill's return, so the second-year guard may be week-to-week rather than day-to-day at this stage.

Merrill (ankle) is expected to remain out for a few weeks, Meghan Triplett of Grind City Media reports.
EDGE Analysis
Merrill had already been labeled as out for Monday's matchup against the Jazz, and he's set to miss at least another handful of games while on the mend. He hasn't made much of an impact with Memphis so far this season, appearing in six games and averaging 4.2 points and 1.2 rebounds in 9.5 minutes.

Merrill (ankle) is listed as out for Monday's game against the Jazz.
EDGE Analysis
Merrill will miss a second straight game as he battles a sprained left ankle. He's only appeared in six games thus far, so his absence won't have much of an impact on the rotation.

Merrill recorded 20 points (7-12 FG, 3-6 3Pt, 3-5 FT), six rebounds, five assists, and one block in Sunday's 110-106 win over Ciudad De Mexico.
EDGE Analysis
Merrill produced a solid outing, no doubt helping the Hustle to its first win. The talented guard is sure to be a fixture in starting five but needs to avoid turning the ball over too often.
