Covington is out Saturday against the Hawks due to a personal matter, Tomer Azarly of ClutchPoints.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Covington has made his way back into the rotation lately, appearing in nine straight games and averaging 5.9 points, 4.8 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 1.2 blocks in 18.2 minutes. However, his streak of appearances will end Saturday. In his absence, coach Tyronn Lue could give more minutes to Amir Coffey and Nicolas Batum.

Covington posted 13 points (5-7 FG, 3-5 3Pt), seven rebounds, one assist, three blocks and two steals over 21 minutes during Thursday's 138-100 victory over the Spurs.
EDGE Analysis
Covington was feeling nostalgic in the win, delivering easily his best performance of the season. Don't look now, but Covington has played at least 19 minutes in three consecutive games, serving up a combined 12 steals and blocks. While there is no certainly about his role moving forward, he could very well be worth a flier for anyone desperate for defensive production.

Covington produced three points (1-4 FG, 1-3 3Pt), five rebounds, six assists, one block and two steals across 21 minutes during Sunday's 112-98 victory over the Mavericks.
EDGE Analysis
Covington logged at least 20 minutes for the first time in more than a week, chipping across the board. It's hard to get a good read on his exact role, given his playing seems to fluctuate wildly from one game to the next. With so much uncertainty, it's hard to treat him as anything more than a potential defensive streaming option.

Covington supplied no points (0-2 FG, 0-1 3Pt), two rebounds and one assist over seven minutes during Tuesday's 120-110 loss to the 76ers.
EDGE Analysis
Covington had played double-digit minutes in five of the Clippers' last six games and recorded at least eight points and five rebounds in each of those appearances. However, he saw decreased playing time Tuesday and could not generate much production. As long as the Clippers are at full strength in the frontcourt, Covington isn't guaranteed to see meaningful minutes regularly.

Covington produced 12 points (3-7 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 5-6 FT), six rebounds, one assist and three steals across 25 minutes during Friday's 128-115 loss to the Timberwolves.
EDGE Analysis
Covington had his best game of the season Friday, taking advantage of the fact the Clippers were without a couple of key pieces. While he obviously still has the ability to contribute on both ends of the floor, he literally isn't an every-night part of the rotation. He is a player to keep an eye on moving forward, although based on how he is currently being used, there is little reason to think he will move into the standard league discussion soon.

Covington (coach's decision) went unused off the bench in Tuesday's 124-113 win over the Raptors.
EDGE Analysis
Covington hasn't gotten off the bench in any of the Clippers' last three games and appears to have ceded the backup center role to Nicolas Batum, who has settled in as a stretch-five option when Ivica Zubac is off the floor. With the Clippers at full health both on the wing and in the frontcourt, Covington doesn't look as though he'll have a chance to reclaim a rotation spot anytime soon.

Covington accumulated five points (2-7 FG, 1-6 3Pt), three rebounds, two assists and one steal over 19 minutes during Wednesday's 99-88 victory over the Timberwolves.
EDGE Analysis
Covington didn't appear in the previous two games, and his showing Wednesday doesn't exactly position him for more playing time moving forward. In addition to minimal output, Covington turned the ball over twice and picked up four fouls in 19 minutes of action. While Covington's per-36 numbers on the year are worthy of rostership in deeper formats, he doesn't play consistently enough to warrant usage in most leagues.

Covington finished with eight points (3-9 FG, 2-7 3Pt), six rebounds, two assists and one steal across 23 minutes during Wednesday's 125-112 loss to Utah.
EDGE Analysis
Covington played a season-high 23 minutes in the loss but failed to make the most of the opportunity. Despite his defensive upside, Covington has been in and out of the rotation this season, currently averaging just 15.2 minutes per game. He is well outside the top 200 in fantasy, making him nothing more than a very deep league streaming consideration.

Covington (illness) played six minutes off the bench in Sunday's 110-102 loss to the Jazz, recording one assist, two fouls and no other statistics.
EDGE Analysis
Covington was back in action after missing the previous four games with an illness, but he was barely able to capture a spot in the rotation. With all of Kawhi Leonard (knee), John Wall (rest) and Luke Kennard (chest) likely in line to sit Monday against the Cavaliers in the second half of the back-to-back set, Covington could see a slight uptick in playing time, but probably not enough to make him a useful DFS lineup piece or streaming option in season-long leagues.

Covington (illness) will be available for Sunday's game against Utah, Tomer Azarly of ClutchPoints.com reports.
EDGE Analysis
Covington missed the previous four games due to an illness and subsequent conditioning issues, but he'll be back to availability off the bench for the first time since Oct. 27. Early on, Covington has been seeing roughly 15-to-20 minutes off the bench. In that role, he's still capable of providing lower-end steals and blocks, but he's not seeing enough minutes to justify starting in most fantasy leagues.
